Schwab Rehabilitation celebrated Valentine’s Day all week! Our pet therapy dog, Murphy, visited and passed out Valentines to the patients and staff. Recreational therapists organized a Valentine’s Day Party to help spread the love to our patients at Schwab. Patients were able to make Valentine’s Day cards for their loved ones, play a trivia game called “Don’t Break My Heart” and win prizes. Patients were also all handed out a Valentine’s Day Card made by therapists and staff in their “Schwab family”.

Caregivers have been on the front line of the COVID-19 pandemic now for nearly a year, working long and difficult hours to provide the best care possible. To target stress and the effects of burnout, the Sufi Psychology Association has donated Caring for Our Caregiver tablets, which have guided stress-relieving videos that consist of visualizations, meditations, breathing exercises, and meditative movements that have been researched to show that they decrease stress.

We’re grateful to Dr. Saloumeh and the Sufi Psychology Association for their generosity to Sinai Chicago's caregivers, as part of their “Caring 4 Our Caregivers” initiative in Chicago and all across the country. Resources like these meditation tablets provide an opportunity to relieve some of the daily stress, helping them to take care of themselves, so they can continue to take care of our communities.

👉 Disparities in death rates result in an extra 3,804 Black lives dying each year in Chicago. Chicago-area researchers from Sinai Urban Health Institute, Loyola University Chicago's Parkinson School of Health Science and Public Health, DePaul University, and the American Medical Association (AMA) are among the first to examine #mortalityrates and #racialinequity at the city level for the nation’s largest urban areas.

👉 Their recently published study, “Comparison of All-Cause Mortality Rates and Inequities Between Black and White Populations Across the 30 Most Populous US Cities” can guide our leaders to create more effective strategies as we strive to achieve #healthequity for our communities.

Sending healing thoughts, prayers and care. Great hospital. I was born there my sweet grandma passed there. Our house a block away. The angels are watching and protecting ❤🙏
Hello Dora, how are you doing? Miss working with you. I was sad the way some of us left with out saying proper good byes.
Good Afternoon, Our company has just introduced a new product which adds benefit to the medical sector during these times of pandemic against COVID19. This box is designed to reduce the risk of virus spreading through the intubating and extubating process. It simulates a negative air pressure which prevents the expansion of any germ to the outside, thus giving greater protection to the health workers. The material used for its creation is resistant to falls and sudden blows (for more details, refer to the attached video) It is also very easy to handle and gives access for both the doctor/nurse and their assistants. DBOX20 is created to fit the standard size of the stretchers. It is very easy to clean and decontaminate due to the resistance of its material in which most cleaning products can be used. Please contact our office to schedule a presentation/ training with one of our representatives. We will also provide you a sample to use as a tester for an entire week.
Thank you to all the hospitals like Holy cross that have helped us fight this pandemic
Our ER dept has a separate meal train started and link is provided within info on current link shared.
HCH pavilion warriors!
Good Monday Morning from Gabe. Today is March 30, 2020. Gabe decided to only focus on One National Day as he (we) all feel it is the most important ❤️. It is Happy Doctors Day. God Bless and be with all that are on the front lines fighting #Covid19 . You are in our thoughts and prayers! Please share to let ALL Medical Professionals that they are appreciated ❤️
Fifth floor staff enjoyed girl scout cookies given to them by a friend of Amanda Corrine Alvarado floor Rn. Simple thank you to all health care workers. We all loved the gesture.
My uncle had"stop breathing" this passed Saturday after having 2 surgeries on his intestines small and big. After the surgeries, he was up talking and complaining. So we were very confused as to the way it took a turn for the worst. But as im asking the nurse questions, she acts as if im bothering her, so i continue with asking questions and now she wants to know who i am and who my mom is. It took everything in me to not give her a nice lashing. This nurse was very rude. She dont deserve to even be employed by a hospital or any type of place where she dealing with the sick. She works in ICU. Maybe you guys can train your staff on how to treat family members of dying patients
SO SAD WHEN A FAMILY SHOULD BE COMING TOGETHER.. Please pray for my family, We're at Holy Cross Hospital and my younger cousin is in ICU and she is in critical condition. Holy Cross Hospital lacks the compassion that is desperately needed when a love one is literally fighting for her life. They are turning family members away denying family members to wait in the waiting room to allow family to visit. Warning Stay Away from Holy Cross Hospital.
Praying for Camille
If I could put no stars on here I would...This hospital is so unprofessional and full of bullcrap disrespectful Hispanic & Black Nurses! They get upset when you question them on your loved one & have knowledge on how a patient should be treated! Do NOT go to this Hospital! They think they can tell you anything and you just believe them. As a healthcare professional it breaks my heart to know people go to School to become Nurses all to be sh*tty ones on the ICU unit of this Hospital! We will be calling and speaking with someone higher!!!
