"Sewing has always been an integral part of my spiritual well being. More than a relaxing pastime, every stitch is a prayer. After accepting Islam I gained a deeper understanding of my talent as a Beautiful Loan from ALLAH. My latest work explores the combination of quilting and intercultural needlework with Islamic calligraphy. I strive to express what is in my heart through the stitches made with my hands."
- Um Gemali
