Ald. Roberto Maldonado (26th), chair of the City Council’s Latino Caucus, quipped that Catanzara should “join outgoing President Trump and become his caddy in the golf fields of Florida.”

Don't throw out that Christmas tree! Last year, over 17,000 Christmas trees were composted, just through the City's program. Those efforts diverted an estimated 620,000 pounds from landfills.
Beginning Jan. 9 to 23, you can recycle your tree at two dozen parks including the Humboldt Park Boathouse, 1369 N. Sacramento Ave.

Here are the 25 Chicago Park locations where you can recycle your tree starting Jan 9th!
🛑 DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT let your children walk on the frozen lagoon in Humboldt Park. It is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. 🛑

2020 may not have been the year we all hoped it to be, but it taught us so much!
We were stretched beyond and challenged beyond belief, but it did not break us! Families reconnected and spent quality time together, neighbors and strangers came together to help one another, and we supported as many small businesses as we could. We made it! I am grateful for another 365 days, 365 more opportunities to make 2021 all we desire it to be!
UPDATE:
Mr Rodriguez has been found and safely returned home! Thank you to all who searched and prayed for him and his family.

This week the Chicago City Council voted unanimously to approve $12 million to build the Nancy Y. Franco Maldonado Paseo Boricua Arts Building. This development was the dream of my late wife, Nancy, and it is named after her to honor her vision.
The beauty about this development is that there will be 25 new affordable live and work units for Latino artists. The first floor will have an area for live performing arts and the commercial space next to it will be a Latin American Wine Bar with spirits from the Caribbean.
I also want to thank Housing Commissioner Marisa Novara and Department of Housing and Development Commissioner Maurice Cox because they have been very supportive of this development from the very beginning. This vision will soon become a reality.
Please spread the word! Chicago Park District and the Wonderland Express will be distributing toys Sat. Dec. 19th at the Humboldt Park Field House from 10am - 12pm. The event will be outside. Spread the Word!

Posted @withregram • @garciasautoparts Chicago residents! Catalytic converter theft is on the rise getting closer to the holidays. This repair is very costly. Sometimes an upward of 1k if you don’t have full coverage!Take proactive measures to ensure this doesn’t happen to you especially if you have a car that is well off the ground like an SUV!!
1. When possible, park in well lit areas
2. If you have a garage spot, use it!
3. Consider an alarm that’s sensitive to vibrations.
4. Consider getting full coverage if don’t have it already.
5. Consider getting a “cat clamp” that is offered on many vehicles.
