🚧 Construction Update for Whipple & Leland // February 10, 2021

The "No Parking" signs on Leland are being removed once the necessary tree trimming work is done and there are also some street lights that need to be turned to allow for the sewer work. Once the city agencies finish that work, the signs will come down until the crews start working on Leland. In the meantime, their actual sewer work is only in Whipple. The timeline for the job is now mid to late March for completion due to the very cold weather.

We also received complaints about the Trailer that DWM parked on Manor (near Gunnison) as it is blocking the view for drivers turning out of the alley onto Manor. The Foreman will be working with the contractor to see if the trailer could be moved North to increase visibility for drivers and they will also install temporary Stop signs at the alley to help make driving safer for those entering/exiting the alley.

Good morning neighbors,

Streets and Sans crews have been out since 3:00 am. Alejandro, our ward superintendent wants to remind everyone to try to park as close to the curb as possible. The trucks are having a hard time making it down a lot of the streets because of how far from the curb cars are parked. We appreciate your help on this.

Here's How You Can Get Vaccinated Against Coronavirus In Chicago

Chicago Department of Public Health has launched a partnership with ZocDoc to offer a tool to help eligible residents find Vaccine appointments in the City of Chicago. We are still in Phase 1B which includes specific groups of highest-risk and front-line essential workers and residents ages 65+. Vaccines are still in very short supply but appointments will be posted on a rolling basis on ZocDoc.

Remember: there are other ways to get vaccinated! You can view the list below (from City website):

➡ Your healthcare provider: Your first contact for vaccines should be your health care provider, including your primary care provider, health clinic, or hospital where you have gotten medical care in the past. Over 350 health care providers have signed up with CDPH to distribute vaccine. Healthcare providers can still sign-up to be vaccine providers.

➡ Your local Pharmacy: The City of Chicago has provided vaccines to pharmacies across Chicago. These pharmacies each have their own registration link. Links can be found in the article below.

➡ Your employer: Specific employers in prioritized essential worker groups will be able to distribute the COVID-19 vaccine to their employees in 1b.

More sites to try and register to be vaccinated can be found below:

Here's where, how and when you can get vaccinated against COVID-19 in Chicago.

Below are some examples of the maps that are given out to our City's snow plows/salt spreaders. Our Streets & Sanitation Superintendent follows a GPS tracker to make sure that the streets get plowed and fills in any blocks that don't get plowed. Certain smaller streets get plowed differently if they are too narrow for regular plows.

You can search the City's Plow Tracker to see when the plow passed your street: https://www.chicago.gov/city/en/depts/streets/supp_info/plowtracker.html?fbclid=IwAR11HXMumHtUg0Ixj-72oqctPYLyo_75rc3JnAkbZBz5pd_KcFAllXOuWb4

Neighbors please remember, if you dig your car out of the street, please DO NOT dump the snow on the street. We have seen many streets getting new layers of snow from shoveling efforts.

I support the idea of redirecting police funding to support alternate solutions for NON-violent crimes. These ARE VIOLENT CRIMES. We need more police, and we need to give them the tools they need to do their jobs.
I can't help but wonder why there is no parking restriction enforcement in the area of Kimball and Ainslie. I called 911 as the CAPS office told me to and yet black SUV, license # BK 37291 has remained unticketed and untowed. Repeat offender # BK 37291 was in this location all of last night once again.
Alderman, please speak to this post that appears to be from your chief of staff. Thank you.

Hiya! Any idea when the street resurfacing from the city water project will be complete on the 4400 block of Spaulding and the 3300 / 3200 block of Sunnyside? It's been a dusty mess for months! Thanks!
Good morning. A water main appears to have burst near Montrose and Sacramento. Do you have any information?
Here is an idea....clean up your ward! It is so dirty....the Westside of your ward....the streets all filled with paper and trash.... Notice the Manor is clean and tidy! Perhaps the People that are getting free food....could do something in return! WORK AND CLEAN....
