WHO WE ARE Project Brotherhood (PB) is a program that was created in November 1997 and hosted in the Woodlawn Health Center- a part of the Ambulatory Health Care Network & Cook County Health System. A multi-disciplinary team of mostly county employees including social workers, academics, and medical staff started the clinic as part of the Cook County health system in county-owned facilities. PB has become a well-known and highly-regarded local nonprofit, as an effective organization that has become a source of pride for many Chicago residents.

YPHP Vice President Jamel Russell and Director of Operations Shambreia McBrayer, along with other public health professionals diligently worked to write a resolution that addresses Law Enforcement Violence as a Public Health Issue. The resolution was featured in a recent Teen Vogue article (See Below). As social justice and policy change as our core values, YPHP will continue to advocate for issues that affect marginalized populations.

The future of a community lies with it's children, therefore we must equip our children with, love, hope and the educational skills needed to become productive adults.
We must listen to the children and encourage them to be innovative and game changers.

The Chicago Public Schools education system is inadequate in educating the Black students in the Black community and with jobs being so essential for survival, CPS needs to start educating Black students in "trade" skills ie: construction, electrical, plumbing, etc.., during their grammar school years.
Everyone can't be a doctor or a lawyer, therefore Black youth must be given the skills to obtain employment at a early age. This will provide hope, discipline and the ability to earn a decent living when they become adults.
