Winter Snow Parking Restrictions

The City of Chicago’s winter overnight parking ban goes into effect today, December 1. This ban restricts parking on critical roadways between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. every day of the week, regardless of snow. This ensures crews can quickly salt and plow the streets during inclement weather. Residents are encouraged to check the posted street signs for parking restrictions.

The City of Chicago encourages you to make your plan to vote. Due to COVID-19, voters are encouraged to Vote by Mail or Early Vote. Visit chicagoelections.gov to vote on or before November 3rd.

Why is your name missing from this? CPD has spent the last 6 months stretched so thin, with days off canceled and working 12 hour shifts. Officers are being denied the use of personal days to spend with their families. I didn't realize that our Alderman was anti police, that's too bad. The 45th Ward use to have an anti First Responder Alderman also.
I hear it is their Grand Opening next week? Sauganash Grill
AND ANOTHER ONE SHOT... right in front of your office on Lawrence...
I would like to address a couple things that I feel need to handled. I have received multiple camera speeding tickets on Lawrence Ave & Cicero by the Carwash place for driving 36-38mph. There is a park that is behind the Carwash, that CANNOT be accessed at Lawrence since the Carwash was rebuilt. In fact, its barely visible from Lawrence Ave. This is purely a speed trap, as they drop the speed limit from 30mph to 25mph for that area for this park. However, 2 blocks west and closer to the expressway entrance there is a park actually adjacent to Lawrence, but the speed limit remains at 30mph. The one behind the carwash is just under the overpass of the metra and the camera is ready to catch you as you speed. It is notorious in the city as being one of the worst speeding ticket cameras per reddit and all the blogs. I have protested these tickets in the past but get zero response besides I lost the protest. This is criminal and should be addressed as its just another "tax".
Wow!
Hey neighbors! I downloaded an app called Citizen News. You will be shocked at the amount of gunfire in our area. I’m ready to form a citizens group to actually DO something about this! We all need to have our voices heard!! We need to take back our neighborhood from these gang thugs that are killing each other. Identify them! Where they live! Who their families are! All we are getting from the police and authorities is lip service! I may be short and old but I have a baseball bat and know how to swing it.
Mayfair and Albany Park neighbors! What can we do about the increased gun violence and drive by shootings in our neighborhoods? I have teenagers that I’m afraid to let walk to the store! I feel like we are just getting a lot of lip service from the police department. “Yeah we know, shootings are targeted... yadda yadda yadda” I call bull! They know who these gang members are! Give us their names and we can run them out! I’m tired of living in fear! I want and we deserve better answers!
5 Gun shots early this morning Tripp and Ainsle. We need these thugs found and arrested. We need more patrols in the area.
Still no call back from your office Alderman Nugent. Guess the 5000 block of Springfield doesn't matter to you. Also signs posted on our building say that they don't want us to shower, wash clothes , or flush our toilets for 24 hours. All of these were put up with less than 24 hours notice btw. There's no one working now, are we ok to practice proper hygiene now?
Alderman Nugent, I called your office today to inquire as to why there are No Parking signs that went up today on the 5000 block of N Springfield from 6 AM to 10 PM on the 27th and 28th and was told I would receive a callback, I have not received any callback. Where are the residents of the 5000 block of N Springfield supposed to park all day Thursday and Friday? We can't park on the 5100 block because that's all a different zone and we can't park on the 5000 or 5100 block of Avers because those are also different zones. Carmen barely has any parking available and the same goes for Argyle. So what are the residents of our block supposed to do, park 5 blocks away or risk getting a ticket for parking on the 3 blocks nearest us that have different zone parking? As someone who ran for Alderman on a platform of better communication between agencies to make road service more efficient, I would think you would also notify residents of burdensome parking restrictions and provide alternatives for them.
