All positions are off-campus, but tutors will be paid for their transportation time. $13/per hour, you must be federal work study eligible. The OSFA recruits literacy and math tutors for the America Reads program each year. America Reads tutors earn $13.00 per hour. The positions involve tutoring and/or working in family literacy centers. Tutors currently work at 11 Chicago Public School (CPS) sites. All CPS sites are located within 3-4 miles of the east side of campus.

Eligible applicants must be:

-Eligible for Federal Work Study
-Available to work 10-20 hours a week
-Available to work between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday
-Able to work at least 2 hours in a row each shift
-Able to speak, read, and write English fluently
-Able to maintain satisfactory academic progress (2.0 GPA and 67% credit completion rate)
-Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester
