I am looking for employers who will hire ex-offenders. I believe that those who have "paid their debt to society" should be given a second chance to become productive citizens. It seems to me that when ex-offenders are able to work, we have "win-win" situations. They are able to earn money to support themselves and their families and to pay taxes like other working people.

Thanks to all who supported my successful efforts to be re-elected to both State Representative of the 34th District of Illinois and Democratic State Central Committeewoman of the 1st Congressional District of Illinois. It is wonderful that many countries, organizations and individuals, are responding, positively, and providing various forms of aid to the Haitiian People. I am hopeful that we do not allow the negativity and ignorance of detractors to distract us from doing what we must do. I caution ALL to beware of those who will utilize this extremely unfortunate circumstance for fraudulent purposes.
