Will lithium kill the gasoline car? Read about how lithium may change the energy and automobile industries in the latest Krautmann’s Korner:

Currently, power stations contribute about 25% of all U.S. emissions, while light-duty vehicles add another 17%. Shifting to the use of lithium batteries in storing electricity and powering electric vehicles would make a significant reduction in the overall level of U.S. emissions.

Meet Gabrielle Stephani!
Hometown: Boston, MA

Why did you choose to major in Economics?
I chose to major in Economics because I knew I would have a wide variety of career paths to choose from after graduation, and the program would provide me with great problem solving and analytical skills for the future.

What activities do you enjoy outside of school?
Outside of school I enjoy skiing, going to the beach, traveling, and trying new restaurants in the city every weekend!

What has been your favorite Economics class so far?
My favorite Economics class so far has been ECO 106 (Principles of Macroeconomics) with John Keeley. He was an energetic, fun, and relatable professor!

Are you currently working?
I will be working as a Financial Representative and Wealth Management Intern at Northwestern Mutual-Chicago this summer!

Have you had an internship?
Yes! I had an internship the summer after my freshmen and sophomore years at a startup business in Boston, MA called Eager Labs.

What kind of job do you hope to get after graduation?
I intend on pursuing Financial Advising and Wealth Management after graduation.

Why did you choose DePaul?
I chose DePaul because of the remarkable opportunities the school, and the city, presented for my future.
