The House of Infiniti S.O.S. Ball is a safe space dedicated to the Q***r, Trans, and Ballroom community as a now 14th annual tradition honoring Q***r people and celebrating their talents. Poverty and housing insecurity are just two of the many issues LGBTQ communities face today. During both of today’s performances of The with The Second City, we’re supporting Proud2Share — an annual campaign aimed at targeting LGBTQ poverty. Performers wearing shoes will sport one purple shoelace onstage, to help raise awareness for the stories of struggle which we, unfortunately, still hear.
Did you know that 20–40% of the 1.6 million youth who are homeless identify as LGBTQ, and that, during the past year, 30% of LGBTQ individuals couldn’t feed themselves or their families?
Join us and show your support. Swap one of your shoelaces with a purple lace, which will be available in the Level 1 lobby of the Harris Theater for Music and Dance. Then, snap a photo of your shoes, with a message of solidarity and support, and be sure to use the hashtags and .
