⭐️ Meet our very first highlight Ms. Jay! Ms. Jay has been teaching with Joffrey CE for 4 years. Her favorite dance styles to teach are Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Poms! Ms. Jay’s favorite thing about teaching dance is being able to see the improvement from her students. Some of her Elementary and Middle School CE students have moved on from their school programs to dancing at the Joffrey Tower and then continuing on to their High School dance teams. She loves seeing her students continue to dance even after their time with Joffrey CE.
Fun fact- She ran into her favorite band at the Honolulu airport and then flew on the same plane as them to California!

The trauma-informed approach is a powerful framework for community engagement, service delivery, and organizational transformation. It encourages us to integrate the science of adversity throughout all we do and helps us create places of healing that promote resilience instead of re-traumatizing people. Being trauma-informed gives us the tools to shift our perspective from one of “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?” Raising awareness is an important first step in becoming trauma-informed.
Thank You to all who came out to the ComEd Switch on Summer event at Buckingham Fountain yesterday. Our Exelon Strobel Dancers enjoyed performing both for and with you. Thanks for having us again.😎

What a week!!! Week four of our Joffrey Ballet After School Matters Summer Intensive is complete. Thank You to Sarita Smith Childs for an awesome week. Our dancers were not only pushed in their Graham based technique and how to apply it to choreography. They also worked on exploring loss, and what it’s like to channel those feelings into a celebration of life through dance. The dedication and drive in the studio is truly inspiring.
Today our Beth Levine Bridge Program Phase lll dancers stopped by to watch our Joffrey Ballet Summer Intensive dancers rehearsal. It was a inspiring way to end a week of dancing.
