ITE Midwestern District Conference 2012

June 24th - June 27th, 2012 in Chicago, Illinois A joint conference of the Midwestern District of ITE and the 4th Urban Street Symposium will be held at the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza June 24th - 27th, 2012. ~The Midwestern District of ITE Conference~ The program will include three days of podium sessions, workshops, technical tours, panel discussions, TRB Committee meetings, and small-group conversation circles covering a broad variety of topics including: * Access Management * Advanced technology * Context Sensitive Solutions * Doing more with less * Engineering curriculum/education * Performance management * Public involvement * Safety * Self-enforcing urban streets * Simulation and/or Visualization of urban streets * Sustainability and livability * Traffic calming * Transit, bicycle, or pedestrian use and urban street design ~Urban Street Symposium~ The symposium is designed to: * explore improvements in suburban and urban street design practices * foster discussions on alternative street design practices * examine alternative street designs * facilitate the transfer of urban street research findings to state agencies and to local governments.
