Huge thank you to the many orgs who have endorsed this bill and are helping us advocate for its passage: Access Living, Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood, Chicago Teachers Union, COFI, Defending the Early Years, Illinois AEYC, Illinois Federation of Teachers, Illinois Optometric Association, Legal Council for Health Justice, NASW-Illinois Chapter, Northern Illinois Nature Preschool Association, Northside Action For Justice, Parents 4 Teachers, POWER-PAC IL, IL Raise Your Hand, and Sierra Club Illinois.
Play is learning. Play is the right of every child. Play has the exact academic, social, physical benefits that our children need right now.
It has been removed from public schools over the last 30 years in an entirely misguided attempt to pursue the high scores on standardized tests of reading and math. It hasn't done that, and it's harmed the childhood educational experiences of many.
Let the children play!
We're shining the spotlight on our healthcare partners in honor of . Thank you to our partners for the work you to do improve health in communities across the nation.
