To celebrate this event, the Greater Cincinnati GIS User Group is hosting a meeting about the City GIS Systems and Active Transport Advocacy tomorrow!

This group was established to increase knowledge, facilitate communication, and aid in problem-solving within the GIS industry. One of the speakers will be Mr. Keith Searles, founder of Urban GIS and EDGE Geospatial, who will talk about how EDGE Geospatial can raise awareness of DEI in the GIS industry.

Our upcoming EDGE-inar will be a lively and interesting session about cultural fluency and competence and supplier diversity, so let's learn about our guest panelists.

Dr. Coleman founded Coleman and Associates, Inc. in 2001 to encourage supplier diversity in the AEC (architecture, engineering, and construction) industry. He has over 20 years of experience managing organizations, developing programs, consulting, and publishing. He has led supplier diversity initiatives and projects for state agencies, municipal governments, and educational institutions to expand the use of minority and women-owned firms in AEC. Between 2012 and 2017, he coordinated the NAEP Supplier Diversity Institute (SDI), where over 100 supplier diversity specialists learned best practices. He also taught civil engineering and supply chain at the University of Illinois.

Kevin Skwira-Brown is an integral member of Cultural Fluency Associates LLP as a founding partner and a full-time trainer/consultant. For two decades, he has taught at the university level, and for the past ten, he has worked directly in social service, organizing at the grassroots level and working with diverse multicultural communities. He has also developed, presented, and facilitated diversity, inclusion, and cultural development work with individuals and organizations for 12 years!
