Booth Crew Member



As a booth crew member at AMC® you’ll operate all film projectors, sound equipment and related equipment in the theatre. You’ll build-up and tear down prints and perform maintenance on the projectors. You’ll also be responsible for routine housekeeping and timely communication with the theatre’s technical systems engineer. What does that mean? We depend on you to make sure we put on a great show. Period.



Take a look at your responsibilities:



•Deliver a comfortable, distraction-free, and picture-perfect entertainment experience

•Monitor film build-up and tear down process for the highest quality

•Coordinate booth operations and duties (e.g., build-up, tear-down, trailer programming)

•Ensure picture-perfect presentations through auditorium and booth evaluations

•Identify picture and sound problems and correct accordingly

•Execute trailer and pre-feature programming

•Assist with other functions and perform other duties as instructed by the General Manager

•Uphold AMC’s high standards and deliver entertaining company-wide programs

As a booth crew member at an AMC theatre, you’ll also be required to demonstrate:

•Proficient guest service, administrative and follow-up skills

•Ability to consistently meet deadlines in a timely fashion

•Standing, walking, lifting, twisting and bending on a frequent basis

•Solid mechanical skills, manual dexterity along with strong eyesight, hearing/color perception

Are there any more changes being made within JFY beyond the move?
Shannon: "Yes, we're looking at changes in direct services from call-ins to the assessment process.

Do you think the clients understand what it truly means to be a "Non-Profit" company?
Shannon: "No I think they view us as a profitable company with loads of cash. The extra money that we do receive is always reinstated into the company just not as much as the clients think."

What key skills does JFY Technology in the Modern day Workshop provide their clients with?
Re*****on: "Collaboration with cloud services through the cloud aka Google Chat on assignments. And also literacy with Microsoft Office Suites to showcase skills in an office environment. As well as learning via online classes for specific skills past the two week workshop."

What are your thoughts on Chicago Public Transportation?
Re*****on: "Well the Cta can be better than what it is, but I have had any problems getting around the city. Thanks to the availability of online services and mobile apps planning out a regular schedule very simple."

After completing the 15 day workshop you went right into an internship within JFY, what influenced you most to make you want to become an intern at JFY?
Armand: "I enjoyed the environment, and really wanted to contribute to helping both myself and my peers. As we all are trying to become successful members of society."

Where's a good place to get luch downtown Chicago?
Armand: "Chipotle!!! I definitely recommend them, I love their steak burito.

What exactly is the AmeriCorps?
Amaris: “It’s a U.S Federal Program that recruits people to work in areas where help is needed.
Location ranges throughout the city and programs include fighting, literacy, healthcare and park cleaning.”


You've recently completed the JFY Healthcare workshop, how was that experience?
Amaris: “It was exciting! It made me feel like I was back in school learning medical terminology.
Healthcare is something that I don't have experience in, so learning everything that is available in the healthcare industry is very exciting.”
