🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: McKenzie 🌟
We are deeply grateful for McKenzie and her work at Caris! Here are a few questions we asked her about her volunteer experience:
a) How long have you volunteered at Caris?
“I volunteered at Caris for a couple of months this summer.”
b) What inspired you to start volunteering?
“I was really looking for a counseling center with Christian values that made a difference. I wanted to know that the place where I worked had a ministry mindset focused on helping those in need. I did not expect there to be a place like this in the Chicago area and was pleasantly surprised to find out about Caris!”
c) What keeps you coming back?
“What kept me coming back to Caris was how warm and welcoming everyone was in the office and how each person truly cares about their work and mission. It is evident in the way the group dedicates each day to the Lord through devotion. They treat each other well while constantly striving as a team to make improvements and ensure their work is excellent. I was welcomed with kindness and respect while I was there and felt valued as part of the team.”
d) What has been your favorite experience?
“My favorite experience at Caris was listening to and witnessing the documented stories of so many changed lives. Story after story of people receiving the comfort, wisdom, and prayer they needed during one of the most difficult and confusing times of their lives showed me that Caris truly makes a difference through its work.”
e) What do you normally help with?
“I normally helped with organizing the office and handling files and inventory.”
f) What would you tell someone considering volunteering?
“Every day I helped with Caris, I felt lighter. I loved knowing that I was a small hand among a body of people who are ministering to others. I highly recommend becoming a volunteer at Caris if you truly care about its mission and work!”
