Dear Community,

Thank you for taking part in this special project to remember Sofia Khan and to honor important people in our lives! The Sofia Khan Garden in one of Chicago's beloved neighborhood parks, Haas Park in Logan Square, is a visual and beautiful reminder of how precious life is.

Memorialize your loved one's name, special phrase, etc. with a brick to be placed around the Garden's pathway. This opportunity provides Community members their own way to honor their loved ones - - - because, truly, the Garden is for all of us!

Sofia loved Haas Park, and her Garden now serves as both an opportunity to reflect and an opportunity to learn. May her joyful spirit, her always-smile, and her love continue to inspire and motivate each of us to live our lives with kindness and joy!

Our next HPAC (Haas Park Advisory Council) meeting will be on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 6:30PM. We will cover the following 3 important topics:

-HPAC Officer elections
1. President
2. Vice-President
3. Secretary
4. Treasurer
5. Communications

-Circus in the Parks
We are partnering with Holstein and Maplewood to bring Circus in the Park to a park near Haas next fall! The Circus will be held at Holstein Park as we cannot have the tent on the turf soccer field, but we are one of the sponsors of this amazing event!

-IMPORTANT! Discussion of staffing at Haas.
We do not have the proper amount of man-hours to properly staff our park and have actually lost hours over the last year. We also do not have enough full time staff which has been the main contributor to our staff turn-over in the last 5 years. We need more hours and more full-time staff. This will be a prelim community meeting to discuss how to approach CPD with a formal request/demand for more staffing.

The egg hunt scheduled for today is still on. We will be having it inside the field house.
