Our mission is to build a community-based response to expanding educational and economic opportunities and to link the employment and training of neighborhood residents with economic development programs and the needs of local area businesses.

GWTP's Job Placement Programs provide a comprehensive array of services to a diverse range of unemployed community residents and to local employers. GWTP provides the skills, support, and employment opportunities critically needed by community residents. Thirty-eight hundred community residents and dislocated workers have been trained, given support services, and placed in jobs in the community. . Getting Started In order to get started with our program, you must complete Intake and Assessment. Intake and Assessment process is used to gather applicant information to determine eligibility and to make informed decisions about needed services. Milwaukee Ave. Chicago, IL 60642 We highly recommend taking public transportation Intake Documents Needed: -Illinois State ID or Driver’s -License with current address or utility bill with your current address -Social Security Card -Proof of Citizenship: -Birth Certificate, Passport, Alien Resident Card, Refugee Card, Work Permit or Certificate of Naturalization -Proof of Income for the last 6 months. This can include one of the following: • Employment Check stubs showing year-to-date amount for 6 months • Unemployment Findings Benefit Letter with payment history printout • SSI award letter • Public Aid eligibility letter (SNAP or TANF) • Letter from whomever is supporting you with supporter’s last check stub or W2 • Institution/Homeless Shelter letter stating how long you have been residing there
