Eligible candidates will provide counseling, crisis intervention and supervision services (direct care-milieu supervision and interaction with clients) for adolescent males ranging from 14 to 19 years of age.
Candidate must be able to provide Medicaid billable services.
To be considered for this position, the ideal candidate will need a High School Diploma with experience for Child Care Worker (CCW) position, and a Bachelor Degree for the Mental Health Professional Supervisor (MHP) position from an accredited school in either child development, psychology, social work or other human services related field.

DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL SERVICES
General Job Duties:
The Director of Clinical Services must have at least, a Masters Social Work (LCSW) or MS. Ph.D (LCPC) in Psychology.
They will have the responsibility for recruiting, studying, licensing and monitoring treatment for behavior disordered children who may have been victims of abuse and neglect (as defined by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services). The Director will also supervise the training program for staff, coordinating the format of the training programs for staff, coordinating the format for training sessions and obtaining the necessary specialists for the various sessions, arranging the meeting dates and places and obtaining audio-visual material needed for the sessions. The Director will also develop, monitor and supervise the habilitation plans developed for each child in the group homes. The Director of Clinical Services will supervise the Therapist and Program Manager. Licenses will be obtained through the Department of Children and Family Services for group homes which meet the standards for licensing. The Director of Clinical Services will be responsible for daily supervision of Therapeutic Group Homes.
Specific Duties:
1. Diagnoses or evaluates mental and emotional disorders of individuals and administers programs of treatment; interviews client referred for group home placement, and other settings and studies medical, psychiatric, and social case histories.
2. Observes clients in various situations; selects, administers, and interprets intelligence, personality, or other psychological tests to diagnose disorders and formulate plans of treatment, and provides consultation to other mental health professionals with regard to test results.
3. Treats psychological disorders to effect improved adjustments utilizing various psychological techniques; selects appropriate treatment approach and plans frequency, intensity, and duration of individual, group, and family therapies.
4. Assesses client progress and modifies treatment programs accordingly; communicates with and counsels family members as appropriate.
5. Documents therapy in accordance with policies and procedures regarding Medicaid requirements; implements and adheres to policies which ensure client confidentiality.
6. Provides crisis intervention in situations requiring immediate psychological treatment.
7. Participates in educational programs, in-service meetings, clinical meetings, and workshops to enhance professional development and maintain currency of methodology and techniques.
8. May instruct and direct staff and students serving psychological internships in ICCS residential facilities.
9. Provides psychological consultations to other mental health professionals within group homes, and other community based agencies with regard to clients and/or patient care.
10. The Director of Clinical Services will recruit and supervise staff for the group homes and other agency Mental Health Services as directed by the Executive Director.
11. The Director of Clinical Services will review the packet submitted by the Department on each child being considered for placement at the group home. This will include a minimum of two (2) interviews with the Department's caseworker, the child and when appropriate the biological family. Recommendation will be made either in writing or in person to confirm placement. A written statement will be done, including the information gathered from the DCFS caseworker, the Director's impressions and assessments of the strengths or weaknesses of child, including his suitability for placement and treatment as well as needed services for the biological family. Completion of all necessary documents, forms and modules as required by the Department of Children and Family Services will also be the responsibility of the Director of Clinical Services, and will be part of a permanent record kept on each child.
12. The Director of Clinical Services will also be responsible for carrying out the intake and placement of children into the program, meeting the natural parents, and securing the necessary forms and signatures prior to placement.
The Director of Clinical Services, with the assistance of the Program Manager, will set up pre-placement visits between biological/foster parents and the child in the agency setting, and supervise those visits.
13. May develop and implement clinical research programs.
14. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
a. At least a Master’s LCSW, LCPC, Psychologist or someone in related field with 5 years experience.
b. A doctorate degree in Psychology, and completion of Pre-doctoral Clinical Internship in related field with 1 to 3 years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified will be highly considered.
c. State of Illinois Licensure, or eligibility for Illinois licensure, as documented by out-of-state licensure; must be credentialed per DCFS and ICCS policies and procedures if billing for services under Medicare/Medicaid.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
• Ability to observe, assesses, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
• Ability to effectively communicate clinical information, test results, diagnoses and/or proposed treatment in a manner easily understood by the client.
• Knowledge of and ability to apply relevant current special education methodologies and techniques.
• Interviewing and psychological/developmental evaluation skills.
• Knowledge of psychological test administration, scoring, and interpretation.
• Ability to assess mental status in clients and to develop individual treatment goals and plans.
• Skill in preparing and maintaining client records.
• Ability to maintain emotional stability to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses.
• Knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements and standards (e.g., COA).
• Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
• Ability to evaluate the progress of therapeutic programs and to make individual modifications.
• Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.
• One who is flexible and able to respond 24/7 to provide assistance to staff during crisis.

PROGRAM MANAGER
General Job Duties
Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services, the Program Manager will be required to provide child care, staff supervision, administrative, and programmatic activities pertinent to the plans/goals of each child in the group home as well as the specific duties highlighted below:
Specific Duties:
1. Supervise direct support professionals including completion of supervision note and oversee the daily operation of the residence.
2. Supervise documentation relating to medication administration in a timely and accurate manner.
3. Participate in intake and interviews for perspective client.
4. Plan and coordinate all daily activities for clients and ensure program schedule is followed.
5. Provide staff schedules, monthly menus, and coordinate weekly activities for the program youth.
6. Accurately maintain written documentation including progress notes of resident’s noting physical, mental, and behavioral changes.
7. Interact, guide and record behavioral observations in a timely and procedurally correct manner.
8. Participate as an active interdisciplinary team member, providing input about the client as needed and with program planning.
9. Account for and assist in the management of client funds and petty cash banks.
10. Enforce program rules and report any infraction of such to the Director of Clinical Services.
11. Provide 24/7 supervision for direct service professionals, and coverage where needed, according to agency policies and procedures and Ibukun Family Teaching Model.
12. Participate in training for internal staff as well as professionals from the community.
13. Provide constant reminders to children regarding consequences for both positive and negative behaviors; the importance of boundaries and provide positive reinforcement.
14. Maintain a safe and stable environment in the group home, e.g., halls are for walking not running; physical or verbal violence between residents (hitting, spitting, biting, or otherwise hurting) should not be tolerated; emotional violence should not be condoned, i.e., name calling; each resident have his own bed and trunk box and is entitled to his privacy; etc.
15. Provide weekly individual and group therapy and complete Medicaid notes required, and also checking to ensure that staff are entering Medicaid notes weekly and appropriately.
16. Assist the Clinical Director with completion of Mental Health Assessments (MHAs) and Individual Treatment Plans (ITPs) as well as attendance at ITP meetings.
17. Provide crisis intervention and counseling to prevent psychiatric hospitalizations.
18. Other duties not listed above but in keeping with the responsibility of a Therapeutic Group Home and/or as requested by the Director of Clinical Services.
Qualifications:
1.Have a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school in child development,
psychology, social work or other human services related field.
2.At least five (5) years of previous residential/group home staff supervisor experience with abused/neglected children as well as with children with behavior management problems.
3Have the ability to communicate with youth with special needs and demonstrate skills in working with and managing children of the type served in the program.
4.Have good writing and oral communication skills.
5.Strong commitment to the operating philosophy of Ibukun Comprehensive Community Services (ICCS), the highest degree of honesty and integrity (reputable character) and personal character of a creditable role model for staff and clients.
6. Must have a valid Illinois driver’s license and the ability to transport clients in the event that the facility motor vehicle is unavailable for use; “State Acceptable” driving record to transport children. Must also have updated driving insurance policy available for the agency personnel files at all times.
7. Comparable work experience will be favorably considered.
