“The state has steadily reduced its share of financial support for public education for more than two decades, dropping from a high of nearly 47% in 1999 to an estimated 32% in 2027 … shifting the majority of support for public education to the local taxpayer.”

Columbus must change, and it is incumbent on us all to make that happen by voting to end the veto-proof supermajority’s control of the legislative process, writes David Lima of Mentor in a letter to the editor.

Canton City Schools is not alone in its financial challenges. Districts ranging from large urban ones to small rural ones are facing shortfalls.

Way to go Middle School Math Team!

Huge congratulations to our 7th Grade Math Team—Beth Elliott, Nancy Arledge, and Tyler McCormick—on receiving an Honorable Mention for the Franklin B. Walter Outstanding Achievement Award!

Our team nominated them for the life-changing work they do with our students with disabilities. The state committee reached out tonight to praise their "truly outstanding student growth measures," noting that their data represents a remarkable measure of improvement.

Our team is so proud of Beth, Nancy, and Tyler for their dedication to ensuring all students can learn and thrive.
