Recently 2 dogs, a great Dane and a Pitbull, were recovered by officers of the City of China Grove. These dogs were the property of the City of China Grove as they were previously abandoned within the City limits.

The Great Dane (Tex) has been adopted through the help of a Veterinary Clinic in San Antonio with up to date vaccinations and microchip in his forever families name.

The pitbull (Zoe) is currently under the care of a Veterinarian for treatment to an eye infection. The Vet thinks the eye can be saved. If you know someone who is looking for a sweet dog, he will be available for adoption soon. Zoe will be up to date on vaccinations and microchiped. Contact us at the City Office 210-648-4923.

As you all are well aware, this storm does not seem to be letting up and will soon be expected within the China Grove area around midnight. Please expect and prepare for increased rain, heavy winds and possible power outages, at least for the next 48 hours.
For your protection and safety for all citizens, we urge you to stay indoors. The probability of road closures due to high water, is defiitely high, so please be mindful if the need arises to be out and about. TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN!!

Officers of the China Grove Police Department will assist and pay their respects for their fellow Officer Richard Bullock, who lost his mother to a short term, yet aggressive battle with cancer. She will be laid to rest at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, January 18th at 2pm. May she rest and peace and may his family find comfort and peace, knowing she is without pain. Our hearts are with you Brother!

The City of China Grove has a ZERO TOLERANCE for firework possession and use.

China Grove City Ordinance prohibits fireworks within the city and states, “It shall be unlawful for any person, in any manner, to POSSESS, possess for sale, sell or offer for sale at retail or otherwise, to USE, SHOOT, DISCHARGE, EXPLODE, IGNITE, or display any fireworks, of any kind, within the city…” Possession and use are citable offenses in the City of China Grove.
All incorporated cities within Bexar County prohibit possession and use by ordinance. If you wish to use fireworks, you must do so in the unincorporated areas of Bexar County.

***** Please also be advised that "celebratory gun fire" with not be tolerated either. Not only is it dangerous, but it is illegal. Remember that, what goes up, must come down.*****

Want to thank all service members who have taken that path and served our country honorably, on this Veteran's Day. Beginning with our Chief of Police Ralph Sramek, your commitment will never be tarnished, as long as America still stands for FREEDOM.


The China Grove Police Department is asking for information of a burglary, located at 8920 US Hwy 87 E. The alleged suspect had entered the premises around 2am, October 21st, early Friday morning and proceeded with the theft of medical equipment and an undisclosed amount of money. As surveillance video showed, the suspect was last seen fleeing from the location on foot, travelling westbound towards San Antonio.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity or their whereabouts, is urged to contact Officer Mike Hetzer at (210)862-9097 or (210)837-3700.

The China Grove Police Department is asking for your help to locate a red 4dr car, occupied by 2 Hispanic males, with the passenger side door handle broken. Limited information on the car and suspects are unknown at this time, but it was identified fleeing Deptawa's Hardware Store today, around 2:45pm, 2/9/2016, after purchasing items with a counterfeit $100 bill. Also seen with them, were 2 Hispanic females in a burnt orange import vehicle. The China Grove Police and Fire Department will gather in the median of US 87 at the intersection of FM 1516 in China Grove, Tx at 10:45 AM tomorrow, Friday September 4th, in honor of slain Harris County Deputy Goforth in conjunction with Governor Abbotts statewide recognition of the fallen Officer at 11 AM.

We will stand together, for it is us, the first responders and thin line, that stands between the criminal mind. Peace be with you all!
