🚨 ICE is once again using violence to suppress our right to protest.

We're outraged by their complete disregard for the safety of people protesting outside an ICE prison, Delaney Hall, in New Jersey. Earlier this week, Senator Andy Kim was pepper-sprayed by ICE agents after attempting to stop them from driving a huge vehicle directly through a crowd. As protestors continue demanding that the government shut down Delaney Hall and end the disgusting treatment of our immigrant neighbors, we need to make our voices loud and clear: We refuse to have our taxpayer dollars wasted on ICE's terror campaign.

Any day now, Congress will vote on a bill giving $71+ billion in new funding to ICE and CBP — with zero protections against human rights abuses like these. Contact your reps now to demand Congress stand firm against new funding for ICE and CBP: https://stopaapihate.org/hold-the-line-on-ice-funding/

We're thrilled that businesses across California are joining Welcome In, the California Civil Rights Department's training program that gives business owners and their employees the tools that they need to stop hate and harassment. In 2022, Stop AAPI Hate advocated for expanding civil rights protections for local businesses, and now four years later, programs like Welcome In are bringing that vision to life.

We all have a role to play to foster safety and inclusivity in our neighborhoods, so if you're a CA resident, here are two ways to get involved:
👋🏼 Business owners can learn more and apply for the Welcome In program by going to calcivilrights.ca.gov/welcome-in

New details have emerged about the horrific mass shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego. According to the evidence so far, this deadly attack appears to have been inspired by right-wing conspiracy theories — promoting white supremacy and hatred for immigrants, women, Muslims, Jews, and LGBTQ+ people.

It's a painful reminder that hate often does not discriminate: When one community is under attack, no one is truly safe. We cannot let acts of racism, xenophobia, and bigotry go unchecked. That's why at Stop AAPI Hate, we remain committed to conducting research on anti-AA/PI hate and fighting for policy solutions that tackle racism at its root. You can help us continue to do this vital work by reporting acts of anti-AA/PI hate when you see, hear, or experience them.

Anti-Asian hate may have disappeared from the headlines, but it continues to affect the lives of everyday people nationwide. In fact, about half of Asian adults in the U.S. recently experienced an act of hate, according to our 2025 survey with NORC at the University of Chicago.

Our communities deserve to feel seen, heard, and protected – not just in moments of crisis like the COVID-19 pandemic, but every day. Here's one thing you can do to help: If you experience or witness an act of anti-Asian hate, you can report it to us using the link below. Reporting is confidential and helps us to continue to advocate for stronger civil rights protections and other solutions that address our communities' needs.

Any day now, Congress is expected to vote on a funding bill to give more than $71 billion in new funding to ICE and CBP — with zero protections against human rights abuses and no congressional oversight into how the money is being spent.

This is our last chance to tell Congress to stand firm against new funding for ICE and CBP and hold them accountable for terrorizing our communities. Take action now: https://stopaapihate.org/hold-the-line-on-ice-funding/

At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, people nationwide came together to condemn anti-Asian hate. But even as public attention faded away, our data shows that hate against both Asian American and Pacific Islander communities has remained alarmingly high and has not returned to pre-pandemic levels.

Half of AA/PI adults experienced an act of race-based hate in 2025, according to our latest survey conducted with NORC at the University of Chicago. We continue to receive stories from everyday people who’ve been wrongfully threatened with a report to ICE and other acts of hate inspired by Trump’s anti-immigrant agenda.

Our communities shouldn’t have to suffer in silence. If you witness or experience an act of anti-AA/PI hate, share your story with our reporting center, so we can continue to spread awareness of this ongoing problem: stopaapihate.org/report-hate

The data is clear: When ICE makes racial profiling its core strategy, Asian immigrants pay the price.

In New York and other states with big Asian populations, ICE is separating families and traumatizing immigrants and U.S. citizens alike. As our co-founder Manjusha Kulkarni explains to Documented, ICE also poses existential threats to our communities. Out of fear for the future, many Asian families are giving up on their dreams to start a business or send their children to college.

in 1882, Congress passed the Chinese Exclusion Act. During the six-decade ban on Chinese immigration, Chinese people in the U.S. faced excessive surveillance, interrogation, and imprisonment by the U.S. government. Hundreds of thousands of Chinese Americans were denied the right to become U.S. citizens. Multiple generations of people lived in fear of being arrested and assaulted during immigration raids.

Sounds familiar? Today, the Trump regime is employing similar anti-immigrant tactics. They want us to think this is business as usual — but we know the truth. No one should live in fear of being treated like an enemy in their own country — not in 1882, and certainly not in 2026.
