***NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS***
Get $25 to Spend at Local Farmers Markets***

Each year, the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program, funded through the federal Farm Bill and administered by the State of Wisconsin, helps older adults access fresh, locally grown produce.

In Chippewa County, the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) distributes $25 vouchers to eligible, low-income seniors. These vouchers can be used at local farmers’ markets and farm stands to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables.

Best of all, farmers receive 100% of the voucher value, supporting local agriculture while helping bring new customers to the market.

***How to Apply***
Each year, applications become available no earlier than June 1, on a first-come first-serve basis, while supply lasts. This is a highly anticipated program with a limited number of vouchers.

View the ADRC's website for eligibility requirements and ways to apply, which includes a convenient online application that reserves your vouchers instantly (if any remain available):

We love a good acronym - but they can sound like alphabet soup if you're not in the loop. Each Sunday, we'll help decode one and explain what it really means.

💚 May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

At the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, we recognize that mental health is just as important as physical health.

Every day, members of our community face challenges that may not always be visible — and no one should have to face them alone.

We encourage everyone to:

✔️ Check in on family, friends, and coworkers
✔️ Talk openly about mental health
✔️ Reach out for support when needed
✔️ Remember that asking for help is a sign of strength

Our deputies and staff are committed to serving our community with compassion, understanding, and support.

Together, we can help break the stigma surrounding mental health and remind others that they matter.

If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available. Call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

💡 Wednesday Wisdom: Supporting children with complex needs starts with supporting yourself.

Caring for children with complex behaviors is emotionally, mentally, and physically demanding — and it's okay to say that out loud.

One of the most powerful strategies from our resource, Empowering Caregivers: 12 Strategies for Supporting Children with Complex Needs and Behaviors, is this:

Practice Self-Compassion. Be kind to yourself, especially during trying moments. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness — it's a sign of strength.

You don't have to be perfect. You just have to keep showing up. And when you need support, we're here.

You are not just a caregiver. You are sacred. 🌿

We're so excited to announce our next webinar — and this one is going to be something special.

Join us on Thursday, June 25, from 6:00–7:30 PM for Kinship Care Through a Motherhood-Is-Sacred® Lens, featuring Cheryl Honnie — a mother of four, guardian of four, and member of the Diné (Navajo) Tribe.

Cheryl will share her deeply personal story of raising children from two worlds, and how the principles of the Motherhood-Is-Sacred® and Fatherhood Is Sacred® programs helped her family overcome challenges, heal, and grow stronger together.

This webinar is for grandparents, aunts, uncles, relatives, and anyone raising a child they love. Come as you are. 💛
