Sometimes it starts with a phone call. Sometimes it's a slow realization that the kids you love need somewhere safe to land — and that somewhere is your house.

Grandparents. Aunts and uncles. Big sisters. The neighbor who has always shown up. Across Wisconsin, people step into caregiving roles they never planned for, because a child needed them.

If that's your story, you probably have a long list of questions. What does legal guardianship actually mean? How is it different from foster care? Do parents lose their rights?

Our new Virtual Resource Kit brings the answers together in one place — tip sheets, webinars on the court process and succession planning, support groups with people who truly get it, and direct links to Wisconsin forms and subsidized guardianship information.

Guardianship keeps families connected. It's a path forward, not an ending.

Take a look, and share it with someone who might need it. 💛
