ATTENTION CHUGWATER RESIDENTS:

It was discovered this weekend that the Chugwater Business Building at 215 First Street took significant and deliberate damage from a BB or Pellet gun, striking multiple windows fronting First Street.

This is a serious offense of destruction of municipal property that also could have harmed individuals in and around the business center, and an investigation will be carried out by the Platte County Sheriffs Office. Additionally the extent of vandalism has been preliminarily assessed to be considered a felony charge. To those who committed this act, be advised that damaging Town property harms building users, residents, and taxpayers through wasted time and resources to fix damages, as well as putting individuals in danger, and will NOT be tolerated in our Town.

If anyone has witnessed or has any information regarding this offense, they are asked to please contact one of our members of council, the Mayor, or staff at Town Hall.

Platte County Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, August 18th, 2026 at the Chugwater Community Center.
Hours open for voting are 7:00am to 7:00pm.
If you are not registered to vote, you can register at the Community Center.
Please bring your government issued ID to vote.
