On a somber day of remembrance, we also pause to remember and honor a longtime Clermont County resident and Bardstown Police Officer, tragically and unnecessarily taken too soon. Officer Ellis’ murder is still unsolved. RIP Officer Ellis.

Crews also spent some time on the other side of the township at St. Bernadette’s walk-a-thon. The students raised $10,000.00 to support programs and activities at the school. Great job!

Thank you and congratulations Detective Barkley! Don’t be a stranger, but we are sure we will be seeing you around!

Today, we recognize and thank Detective Kevin Barkley for his dedicated service to the Pierce Township community as he concludes his time with our department.

Detective Barkley joined the Pierce Township Police Department in 2017, following the start of his law enforcement career with the Amelia Police Department in 2012. In 2021, he was assigned to our Investigations Unit, where he played a critical role in solving hundreds of cases and supporting victims throughout our community. In 2022, he earned certification from the State of Ohio as a Master Criminal Investigator—an achievement that reflects his professionalism, skill, and commitment to the job.

Kevin will now continue his career as a Special Agent with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation. While we are sorry to see him leave, we are proud to see him take this next step in service to the people of Ohio.

Please join us in thanking Detective Barkley for his 9.5 years of service to Pierce Township and wishing him continued success in this next chapter.

Thank you, Kevin.
