Residential yard waste will begin the first week in April. The service runs until the last week of December. This is for the 96 gallon toter cans.
We are currently accepting applications for openings within the department. Contact our Office Manager Stacy Loyall at 812-283-8233.
We would like to give a thank you to the men and women in our department for all their hard work during the last snow event. Everyone from the plow drivers, sanitation workers, mechanics and everyone else in the department. Thank you and you deserve all the praise you have been receiving.
Leaf season will begin on Monday November 8. You may see a leaf machine out for the next couple of weeks as we test the machines and make sure they are ready for the season.
Clarksville Public Works Department updated their business hours.
Public Works will be off on Monday, July 5. We will pick up Monday and Tuesday routes on Tuesday, July 6. We hope everyone has a good holiday weekend and stays safe.
For residents who have garbage and yard waste pick up on Monday's, we will be picking up your cans tomorrow. Please put your cans out this evening.
We will be picking up garbage and yard waste Monday, May 31st on Memorial Day. Please put your cans out the night before. This is only for the areas that have weekly Monday pick up. The rest of town will be picked up on your regularly scheduled days.
We are now operating on our Spring/Summer hours. We will be on this schedule until the end of 2021.

Yard waste pickup will begin next Monday, March 29. The day of the week for your pickup will be the same as previous years. All yard waste needs to be in a 96 gallon toter can, except for limbs that are longer than 3 feet. Those are to be placed at the curbline and will be picked up same day as your garbage. Please call 812-283-8233 if you need anymore information.

Blackiston Mill Rd. is now open.
We are anticipating street closures due to high water. These roads include Gutford Rd, Emery Crossing, McCullough Pk, and Blackiston Mill Rd. At this time it looks like Blackiston Mill will be closed at the bridge sometime around 11:00 a:m Friday March 5th.
Duke Energy will be doing pole replacement on Blackiston Mill Rd tomorrow evening. They will need to close Blackiston Mill at the bridge on Wednesday Feb. 24 at 9:00p:m. The road will reopen Thurs Feb. 25 at 5:00 a:m.
We want to give a huge thanks to the Clarksville FOP for bringing all the guys lunch. We really appreciate you all.

Just a quick reminder if your garbage is normally picked up on Friday's. The next 2 weeks it will be the Monday after the holidays when it's picked up. Merry Christmas from everyone at the Public Works Dept. We are very appreciative of having the support of a great town and its residents.
Due to the rise in Covid cases our offices will be locked down until January 4, 2021. No visitors will be allowed inside any of our buildings. Residents can still drop off yard waste in the dumpsters on the back of our lot. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. You can still reach us at 812-283-8233.
The weeks of Christmas and New Years, the Friday routes will be picked up on the following Monday. All other days including Christmas Eve and New Years Eve will be picked up on their normal days.
The last week of December will be the final pickup this year for yard waste. We will start the weekly pickups again the first week of April 2021. Starting December 31, our winter hours will be 6 a:m till 3 p:m daily and closed on weekends. We hope everyone has a great holiday season.

This is the leaf route schedule for 2020. Leaf season will begin on Sat. Nov 14th. We will be testing our machines beginning on October 26th. On the 26th we will send one machine out daily. Any questions please call the office at 812-283-8233.

Public Works will be picking up garbage, and yard waste, on Labor Day. Monday, September 7th.
Garbage, and Recycling will be picked up as scheduled Friday, July 3rd. Have a great holiday weekend .
Lewis and Clark Pkwy has opened back up.
The work scheduled for Lewis and Clark Pkwy. has been postponed due to weather. We will be doing the work tomorrow Wednesday, June 24th, at 9 A:M. Sorry for the inconvenience. Lewis and Clark will be closed in both directions from Triangle Dr. to Eastern Blvd. for approximately 1 hour.
Tomorrow morning: Tuesday, June 23rd, at 8 A:M, Lewis and Clark Pkwy. will be closed in both directions. The closure will be from Eastern Blvd. to Triangle Dr. and will last for approximately 1 hour. We will be working overhead of the roadway at that time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
We will be working on Memorial Day. Monday May 25, garbage, yard waste and limbs will be picked up.
Summer hours will begin on Wednesday, April 1. The yard waste bins will be open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 a:m to 6 p:m. Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday's, from 6 a:m to 3 p:m. Saturday's 8 a:m until 12 noon. These hours will be in effect through the last week of December.
Please don't put leaves, dirt, saw dust, or any other type of yard waste in the gutter line. These types of material should be placed in a yard waste can. Please help us in keeping your neighborhood's looking nice.
