One of our participants at our last session told us what a difference Memory Care Corral made for her friend who has Alzheimer’s disease for whom she is the caregiver. Here is most of what she said:

I just want to thank you and all your fabulous volunteers for an amazing and uplifting experience yesterday at Memory Care Corral. When I picked up my friend yesterday at noon she was in the usual “I’m so tired and I’m having a bad day” mood… After our time with the program, when we left she was animated and smiling and talking about how she can’t wait to come back next week! Honestly, I also left feeling happy and calmer after our time with the horses. Her daughter and family members are thrilled with her joy and renewed feelings of life, as am I. Please share this with the volunteers. You are beautiful people.

It is this kind of feedback that motivates all of us who are involved with Memory Care Corral. Let’s continue to spread the word!

The Memory Care Corral at Sunshine Horses offers a program that combines animal therapy and dementia care to help patients, caregivers, and horses.
