Good news for Maryland farmers: Agricultural scrap tire recycling events are coming back! The Maryland Board of Public Works approved funding for these events, citing the event’s popularity and Maryland Farm Bureau’s advocacy.

The Washington County Farm Bureau was proud to help sponsor the Grain Bin Safety & Rescue Training held at the Public Safety Training Center for our local first responders and farmers.

Our friends at South Side Grange No. 361 donated the rescue equipment to one of our local first stations, and we were able to sponsor the training trailer from the National Education Center for Agriculture Safety.

We hope this is a training that our first responders and farmers never have to use, but it’s important information and skills to have should an emergency ever occur. Being prepared can make all the difference when every second counts.

We are proud to work alongside our agriculture community and first responders to help make farm safety a priority in our County!

A huge thank you to Fred and Joanne Smith of F&D Apiaries for joining us at Kids Fest last Wednesday! 🐝 Your educational presentation on bees was so insightful, and everyone loved the delicious honey sticks. What a buzz-worthy experience for all ages! 🍯
