CHAMBERSBURG – Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, initially, was all-in on data centers. After all, we all use technology every day and we need buildings to power that. Now, however, it looks like Shapiro has changed his mind. An executive order signed by Shapiro early in […]

Politicians love to play the hero when it suits them, but the flip-flopping is getting old. Look at Governor Shapiro—he took credit for bringing massive data centers into our state, but only after accepting millions in campaign contributions to approve them. Now, he’s suddenly flipped to backing strict regulations without any real community input.

Meanwhile, Stacy Garrity has been consistent from day one. She isn’t anti-progress; she’s just asking for a necessary pause so local municipalities actually have time to implement best practices and listen to the people who live there. We need real, steady leadership that protects our communities—not disingenuous political games.

Now he condemns data center developers as “bullies” and “speculators,” while touting his executive action this week as the “strictest guardrails in the nation.”

Did the reality on the ground change, or just the politics?
