The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Johnson County in effect until 7 pm Thursday Evening. They anticipate heavy rains and flash flooding in the area. Please use caution while driving and never go around a marked barricade. Turn around don’t drown.

- Hwy 67 between the tollway and N Main
- North Main viaduct

A Tornado Watch is in effect for parts of North and Central Texas until 6 pm this evening. Strong to severe storms will be possible, and the main threats are damaging winds, quarter-sized hail, and a few tornadoes. Stay weather aware through the evening hours, and have an action plan if you're out or attending events. Have multiple methods to receive your warnings!

Tuesday: A complex of storms is moving in from the west this morning and will continue tracking east. Isolated to scattered showers and storms are occurring east of this complex across parts of North and Central Texas. Some storms could be strong to severe this morning. mainly west of I-35, with a threat for damaging winds and heavy rainfall causing flood issues. An isolated tornado is also possible. The morning line of storms will continue pushing east this afternoon but is anticipated to weaken and possibly dissipate somewhere east of I-35. However, a threat for strong or severe storms will continue before the line weakens. A secondary round or line of storms may form near or east of I-35/35W later today and move east through the evening hours. These storms could also become strong to severe. Damaging winds will be the main hazards but an isolated tornado will also be possible. Heavy rainfall may cause flooding issues.

Remember: Outdoor warning sirens are designed to warn people that are OUTDOORS to seek shelter indoors, and seek further information from media outlets. The sirens are not designed to warn you while you are indoors.
