Another busy weekend for the Clinton Middle School and Clinton High School Bands! A group of students performed Solos and Ensembles at STEAM on the Square hosted by Laurens County School District 56 and 55.

What. A. Season.

The CHS Winter Guard completed their 2026 season yesterday at the CWEA Championships in Rock Hill! They have rehearsed for countless hours, competed in several competitions, and persevered through all obstacles! Last night, the winter guard earned THIRD PLACE and a bronze medal in their class!!! This comes AFTER their promotion to a new, much harder class. Due to the promotion mid-season, the group also earned a black medal as a reward for this achievement. It is very rare for a group to go home with TWO medals.....and the CHS Winter Guard has done it TWO YEARS IN A ROW!!!

We are so beyond proud of this group of students, and we can't wait to keep pushing, building, and reaching new heights! Thank you all so much for your support, and GO BIG RED!!!

The CHS Concert Band traveled to Greenwood High School today to participate in the annual Concert Performance Assessment. They have worked hard every single day for the past several months leading up to this, and we are beyond excited to share that for the first time in school history, the band earned a rating of “Superior With Distinction”!!! This is the highest possible rating a band can earn at this event, meaning all four judges (three for the concert stage performance and one for sightreading) gave the band a rating of “Superior”!

Between Concert Performance Assessment and the Clinton Middle School Leadership Breakfast, the CMS Honor Band has been hard at work. On Thursday we performed bright and early at 9 am, receiving an excellent and some incredibly helpful feedback. We celebrated with Pizza and Bowling, after all, band should be about making life long memories. On Friday we performed at the Conference Center alongside the CMS Honors Choir. In attendance at the event were many community leaders, business owners, and the mayor. We are so proud of these young people!

Yesterday, the Clinton High School Winter Guard competed at Byrnes High School for the first time in their new class, Scholastic AAA. This is the class they were promoted to after their 1st place finish at the last competition. The students worked relentlessly to compete against groups that have been around for much longer, have more experience, and have competed in this class for years.

We are beyond proud to share that the CHS Winter Guard earned THIRD PLACE 🥉 yesterday in their new class!!! This is an incredible achievement, and far exceeded the expectations of all instructors, parents, and the students themselves!!

Their last competition will be held at Winthrop University on March 28th at 7:13 PM. Wish them luck, and GO BIG RED!!!

The Clinton High School Big Red Jazz Band put on a phenomenal concert at the annual Jazz Performance Assessment at Newberry College today, and earned a rating of “Excellent”! These young musicians also got the opportunity to participate in an improvisation clinic with Canadian artist, Anomalie!

Come out and see them perform tomorrow at ArtsMix 56!

It’s official! The CHS Winter Guard has been promoted to the Scholastic AAA class!

It’s hard to believe that this group has only been in existence for three years, and they will now have competed in three different classes!

These students work tirelessly, and their effort and dedication absolutely pays off! GO BIG RED!!!

The CHS Winter Guard had their second performance of the season yesterday at Pickens High School! They have worked tirelessly between their competition last week and yesterday to continue perfecting their show, and we are beyond excited to share that it has paid off…… Out of 13 competing groups in their class, the CHS Winter Guard earned FIRST PLACE 🥇 for the second week in a row!!! This group of students is just phenomenal!

Come out and see their show (along with the CMS and CHS bands) this Saturday, March 7th at ArtsMix 56! The group will perform at 12:45 PM in the CHS main gym!

The Clinton Band program has been BUSY!

Last week, we had 6 students attend the USC Honor Band Clinic, where they got to learn from some of the best educators in the country! Congratulations to Tikerra Adams, Colton Tenry, Nicole Boyter, Cade Stover, Allie Wages, and Kalleigh Watson!

Yesterday, Colton Tenry performed with the SCBDA Region 6 Senior Honor Band, and Allie Wages performed with the SCBDA Region 6 Clinic Honor Band! They learned an entire concert’s worth of music in only a day and a half!

At the same time, on the same day (yesterday), the CHS Winter Guard had their debut performance of their show entitled “Reign” at Irmo High School! For the third year in a row, they received FIRST PLACE 🥇 in their class at their premiere performance! Catch their show next Saturday, February 28th, at Pickens High School!

It has been an amazing last couple of weeks, and we thank all of you for your continuous support of the band program! GO BIG RED!

Students in the Clinton Middle School Band had a blast week at our Valentines Week Sticker Sale! We raised over $100 which has gone towards new saxophone neck straps and the transportation for our upcoming trips.
