Anderson County EMS, Andersonville Volunteer Fire Department, and Anderson County Emergency & Rescue Squad were honored to receive the 2026 Region 2 EMS Star of Life Award.

This award recognizes exceptional front-line EMS providers and agencies across Tennessee who deliver lifesaving care and make a lasting impact in their communities.

The recognition stems from a September 2025 rollover crash on I-75 involving multiple patients, including a critically injured child. Through rapid hemorrhage control, teamwork, and advanced prehospital care, responders were able to stabilize the patient and provide life-saving interventions during transport.

We are incredibly proud of all the providers involved in this call and honored to serve Anderson County every day.

We want to give a big thank you to Lowes Tow's for stepping up and helping us out.

When Dolly Parton Children's Hospital generously donated two vehicles to our squad, Lowes Tow's made sure we could get them where they needed to go—and helped us get them set up for training so our members can practice important extrication skills.

That kind of support doesn’t go unnoticed. We’re grateful for partners like you who always have our back. Thank you for helping us better serve Anderson County!

BIG NEWS ALERT!
We’ve got something huge to share, and you’re going to love it!

A generous donor has stepped up in a major way and will MATCH every single dollar we raise toward our brand-new emergency vehicle. That means your support now goes TWICE as far and makes an even bigger impact.

Road conditions across Anderson County are very treacherous at this time. Temperatures are not expected to rise above freezing, and hazardous conditions are expected to persist.

If you do not need to travel, please stay home. Limiting traffic helps reduce crashes and allows emergency crews to respond more safely.

🚑 Emergency response times may be extended due to road conditions and limited access in some areas.

Please use extreme caution if you must be out, slow down, and give emergency vehicles plenty of space. Stay safe and continue to monitor local updates.

We are closely monitoring an upcoming winter weather event expected to impact Anderson County beginning Friday evening.

🚑 Public Safety Reminder:
Road conditions are expected to deteriorate overnight Friday into Saturday morning. Please limit unnecessary travel during this time and allow extra time for emergency responders to reach you if needed.

🚨 Response Operations:
The Anderson County Emergency & Rescue Squad will be operating under our Snow & Ice Response Plan beginning at sundown Friday night. We will be prioritizing life safety, emergency access, and rescue operations. Non-emergency calls may be delayed or deferred depending on conditions.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we work to keep our community safe. Stay weather-aware, plan ahead, and stay safe this weekend.

Remember, from here on out conditions in many areas of East Tennessee will deteriorate through the rest of the evening and overnight tonight.
A lot of this will transition over to rain after sundown, but not for everyone.
