Behind the scenes, the Connecticut Water team collects and analyzes thousands of water samples each year, testing for more than 120 water quality parameters to help ensure the water we deliver meets all federal and state drinking water standards.

The Connecticut Water Charitable Giving Team recently stopped by to deliver a donation to the Naugatuck Fire Department, which they used to replace a fire hydrant valve. The valve allows firefighters to connect a pump to a fire hydrant when water must flow uphill or through long stretches of hose. The upgraded equipment enhances firefighters' ability to deliver water in an emergency while also helping protect the water system through a safer, slow-opening design.

Starting Soon: Connecticut Water will replace about 2,800 feet of water main along Elm Street and Goodwin Court in Thomaston. This project will increase available water flow to the area and improve system reliability and fire protection. Two fire hydrants will be replaced as part of the project, along with connections to 26 homes.
