Clean up 🧹 clean up 🧽 everyone let’s clean up.

It's Clean Up Day! Public Works will be accepting landfill items on Thursday, August 13 from 1-3pm at their office yard (1711 W 1740 N). Drop by items that are too big for your trash can but small enough to fit into a dumpster. Tires, hazardous waste, and mattresses will not be accepted.

💧 The Landscape Lawn Exchange program is for the removal of lawn in any area of your property and replacing it with water-efficient ornamental plants and materials!

🚨 IMPORTANT:‼️
Applications MUST be approved BEFORE removing lawn.
💰To help with costs, we are offering:
$1.25 per sq. ft. – Cities without required water-efficient ordinances
$2.50 per sq. ft. – Cities that have adopted water-efficient landscape ordinances

🌱 This is an incentive to remove lawn and replace it with:

I’ve been asked several times why I’m so passionate about repealing term limits.

The answer is that my passion really isn’t about term limits themselves. It’s about protecting the principle that voters should decide who represents them.

I’ve lived in Clinton my whole life. I love this community, and I trust its people. If an elected official is doing a good job, is willing to continue serving, and the voters want to keep them, I believe that should be their choice. If they’re not doing a good job, elections give the public the opportunity to replace them. That’s how accountability is supposed to work.

I also haven’t seen evidence that Clinton specifically has had a long-term incumbency problem that required this solution. Looking back over roughly the last 15 years, only two people have served more than two terms. To me, that suggests our elections have been working. Voters have already been deciding when it’s time for change.

I understand why some people support term limits, and I respect that perspective. We all want accountable government. I simply believe regular elections are the best form of accountability because they trust the people, not the government, to make that decision.

At the end of the day, this isn’t about any one person or any current council member. It’s about preserving the right of Clinton’s citizens to choose who represents them. I believe voting matters, and elections matter, and that choice should remain with the people.

Firework Restrictions update for this weekend. Have fun and be safe.

After reviewing conditions throughout Clinton, the Mayor and Fire Chief determined the fireworks restrictions should remain similar to those from the Fourth of July.

In addition to the public properties shown in red, which are always restricted, the City requested restrictions in pink for areas with higher fuel load and elevated risk. The Utah State Forester has approved that request.

The result is a map substantially similar to our previously posted map.

From July 23 through July 25, the discharge of fireworks is prohibited within the red and pink highlighted areas shown on the attached map.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in helping protect our neighborhoods, open spaces, and first responders while celebrating the Pioneer Day holiday safely.
