Vivian's goals, as a member of the Cloverdale Community School Board of Trustees, are:

• Giving school personnel all of the academic resources necessary and desirable to ensure that no doors of opportunity are closed to students as they pursue their career goals and dream.
• Hiring and supporting strong administrators, then allowing them to do their jobs…no micromanaging.
• Maintaining a strong financial standing by stretching tax dollars and pursuing grant opportunities.
• Increasing salaries to retain and attract teachers and staff while not increasing the tax rate. Other Involvements/Organizations:

• 2013 National Dollars for Scholars Volunteer of the Year
• 2020 Spirit of Philanthropy Award from the Putnam County Community Foundation
• Board member-Cloverdale Community Dollars for Scholars(coach students & parents in applying for scholarships).
• Putnam County Community Foundation Honorary Board Member(serves on the Youth Philanthropy and Governance/Nominations Committees).
• Member of the Cloverdale Lions Club
• Tour Director for School Groups to Washington, D.C. for 8 years
• Member of Phi Delta Kappa
• Life member of the National Science Teachers Association and the Indiana Association of School Principals

Thanks to all patrons in the Cloverdale Community Schools who voted! I am grateful for your support in my reelection. Congratulations to Emily Haltom for her election to the board. Though Aragon Gould and Carol Pennington were not successful in their respective bids, I sincerely appreciate their willingness to step up and become more involved in our schools. I hope to continue the steady improvement in the education offered to our children. After all, the more we invest in them, the better life will be for all. So proud to be a lifelong CLOVER! 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀

Vivian is an advocate of community success. She is involved with so much more than just the school board. Cloverdale Community Dollars For Scholars, Putnam County Community Foundation, Cloverdale Lions Club, and Student Mentoring are just a few of her other involvements! She has been on the school board for the past 8 years! During that time she has continuously supported the educational advancement of Cloverdale Schools through educational materials, funding, and teacher raises!

I am excited for the opportunity to continue fostering relationships, expanding our educational reach, and advocating for resources our teachers need to best prepare Clovers for their futures.
