To ensure everyone understands how our Code Enforcement Committee operates, we want to share a quick overview of our meeting structure.

Our meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of each month at 5:30 PM, on the same day as the City Council meetings.

These meetings are open to the public, and we welcome citizen input. However, just like a council meeting, the committee conducts its business and discussions first. Public comments will be invited at the appropriate time after committee business has concluded.

We appreciate the community’s interest and involvement as we continue working toward making Cloverport a safe and well‑maintained community.

Official Code Enforcement Statement

There has been a noticeable amount of misinformation circulating in the community regarding the properties on West Main Street. During the last City Council meeting (special called meeting), I provided a three‑page report outlining the factual timeline and current status of these properties.

We want to reassure everyone that this situation is being handled through the appropriate channels, including state oversight. Some information cannot be released at this time due to ongoing processes, but the work is moving forward and remains focused on public safety.

The public should understand that we will share what we can, when we can, and that updates will continue to be provided as we are legally able to release them. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to rely on official communication rather than unofficial posts or rumors.

Dear Cloverport Citizens,
As you may know we’re reigniting code enforcement to keep our community thriving! We kindly ask everyone to evaluate and address property conditions that violate city codes, such as overgrown grass, inoperable vehicles parked on lawns, tires, and other junk items stored on properties.
Take the next 20 calendar days to proactively improve your property. During this time, Code Enforcement will identify properties needing attention and monitor progress. After June 9th, 2025, we will begin audits and take necessary steps, including certified letters and citations where needed, to ensure compliance with city statutes.
We’re also addressing properties on Main Street and city-managed areas, treating everyone fairly and consistently. Let’s work together to make Cloverport an even better place to live! If you have any questions feel free to message us here or leave a message with City Hall. please share this post and get the message out. Code Enforcement is driven to make our community better and create a positive impact for everyone.

Thank you in advance for your corporation,
