Thrilled to announce a $2 million boost in state for the parking and transportation facility planned as part of the new Coatesville Train Station.
I know residents have been eagerly awaiting this project and construction is finally beginning.
As we move forward with building the new train station and look forward to making Coatesville’s revitalization a reality, I am fully committed to supporting continued investments in the future of Chester County’s only city – a future that must include economic growth and job opportunity for residents of Coatesville and the surrounding region.
This funding is just one more piece of the puzzle in that ongoing effort.

At this evening's partnership program hosted by Coatesville 2nd Century Alliance at Midway Arches, Sergeant Brenden Boyle and Detective Kirt Guyer were introduced and recognized by Sonny Huntzinger. Sergeant Boyle and Detective Guyer have been diligently working toward their National CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) Certifications, made available through a grant from Coatesville 2nd Century Alliance. When we heard that youth from The Bridge Academy and Community Center in Coatesville spent time each week this summer cleaning up litter in their hometown, we were really impressed and wanted to show our appreciation. Recently, we threw them a pizza party to do just that! Thanks again for your hard work! 🍕🥳 Many thanks also to Coatesville 2nd Century Alliance for helping coordinate this awesome initiative!
In between calls today, we 'caught' some kiddos 'doing something right' and there were consequences. We found two different groups of kids from The Bridge Academy and Community Center in two different areas volunteering to clean up the community. For their thoughtfulness, community spirit and effort, they were given fist-pumps, words of praise and 'ticketed.' With the 'tickets,' they will be able to cool off with a delicious cold treat.
Thank you, Kids, for being good citizens! Thank you, B.A.C.C., for your ongoing desire to mentor and offering opportunities for our youth! And...Thank you, Coatesville 2nd Century Alliance and Downtown Coatesville for helping with supplies for the service project.
We thank the many volunteers that chose to get up early and spend the morning of their Juneteenth Holiday participating in a downtown clean up and beautification project. Coatesville 2nd Century Alliance organized the community service initiative and we appreciate the opportunity to help and to connect with a variety of community members.
If the city was really making changes, this site would be blowing up with posts about those changes. The fact remains that those in charge still have not made any difference in the face of Coatesville with any city backed projects. Except the new Police and admin building. That's nice!
Shouldn't be taking this long to start these projects. What are really waiting for? Why the long delays? Why are private investors taking all the risk?
