Washington Hose Co. No. 1

Last week Deputy Chief Buchanan, Supervisor Wallace, FTO Harvey and FTO Eno traveled to Staunton Virginia to meet with two gentlemen from the Unicoi County Search and Rescue from Unicoi County Tennessee. The purpose of this trip was to hand over former Ambulance 41-3 which was donated from the Washington Hose Company to Unicoi County SAR to replace vehicles that were damaged during Hurricane Helene in September. Staunton Virginia was an approximate halfway point between the two communities. In Staunton both crews met for lunch and discussed damage from the hurricane and how it affected eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina. After lunch, members from Coatesville went over the truck with the members from Unicoi. 

We are pleased to report that we contacted Unicoi earlier this week, and they state that the old girl is taking their hills like a champ, and they look forward to placing it in service.

We wish the best of luck to Unicoi County Search and Rescue and their community as they continue recovery efforts from the devastating hurricane.

Units from Washington Hose, Coatesville Bureau of Fire , Coatesville Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 3790, Wagontown Fire Company, Westwood Fire Company, Modena Fire Company Station 37, Coatesville VAFD IAFF Local F257, Keystone Valley Fire Department, City of Coatesville Police Department are at the scene of this apartment fire in the 300 block of West Lincoln Highway in Coatesville City. The Highway is closed between Hope and Church Avenues . Sadsburyville Fire Company No. 1 is on standby at Station 41 covering the City.

Washington Hose is now hiring part-time and per diem EMTs and AEMTs.

Starting hourly wage of $19-$20/hr for EMTs will be commensurate with experience. The starting hourly wage for AEMTs will be $25.00.

If you receive a mailer from Minquas Fire Company, please disregard it. 

Regarding our EMS Membership Mailing:

We're learning today that our annual EMS membership subscription was mailed to many residents OUTSIDE of our primary coverage area without our knowledge or consent. If you receive a mailing like the one in the photo and DO NOT live in Downingtown Borough, PA, East Caln Township, PA, Caln Township, East Brandywine Township, our section of West Bradford Township, and our section of Upper Uwchlan Township, please do not send a check to us for an EMS membership.

If you do not live in one of the municipalities listed, you should have received a membership from your primary ambulance (Good Fellowship Ambulance & EMS Training Institute, Uwchlan Ambulance Corps, Westwood Fire Company, Modena Fire Company Station 37, and Washington Hose Co. No. 1). We have a reciprocal billing agreement in place where if you are a member of your primary ambulance and are transported by Minquas EMS, we accept those memberships in full in the unfortunate event that you need an ambulance.

Once again, please make sure you are supporting your primary EMS department as funding today is as important as ever for all of us.
