SATURDAY ASTRONAUT PARADE COCOA BEACH AND ALAN PARSONS PROJECT CONCERT--An Astronaut Parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. with an after street party following at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 13 at Cocoa Beach.
The parade will kick off at 4th Street North and wind its way south on Orlando Avenue, ending at 1st Street South.
Participating astronauts in the parade will include Al Worden, Rick Hauck, Anna Fisher, Jerry Ross, Bill Nelson, Jim Wetherbee, Bob Cabana, Bruce Melnick, Frank Culbertson, Andy Allen, Curt Brown, Stephen Robinson, Scott Altman, Kay Hire and Chris Ferguson.
Mrs. Sudler added that the families of the Apollo 11 astronauts will also be in attendance to represent their father’s legacies.
On Saturday evening, a free outdoor concert is scheduled at Cocoa Riverfront Park, 401 Riveredge Blvd. The concert will feature Edison’s Children, which includes Neil Armstrong’s son Rick on guitar, as the opening band, and the Alan Parsons Project as headliner.
While the concert on Saturday, July 13 is free, an upgrade for reserved seating is available for $50. Tickets for upgraded seating, however, is limited as of time at press.
Limited tickets are also still available for the “Families of Apollo Brunch & Panel Discussion” from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 14 at Courtyard by Marriott, 3435 N. Atlantic Ave., Cocoa Beach.
A “Women in Space” panel is free and open to the public to attend from 1:30-2:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 14 at Courtyard by Marriott in Cocoa Beach.
