Today after 37 years of dedicated service to the community of Sandy Ridge and Dickenson county and Wise County, Our Chief and brother and friend Dale Mullins and his loving wife Trish Mullins has decided that their time here at Sandy Ridge Fire Department has come to an end, With Dales nomination of our Asst. Chief Cody Rittenberry to become the new Chief of The Sandy Ridge Fire Dept. With unanimous vote the members of our department voted Josh Sturgill as Asst. Chief and Susan Sturgill as Sec/treas. As wish Dale and Trish the absolute best in their future endeavors whatever they maybe, they are going to be missed and loved by so many here at The Sandy Ridge Fire Department.

Today kids all over the county are starting their first day of something today, as your making your morning commute be mindful of school buses stopping and loading with children, We have a couple junior members who are doing the same, today we just want to wish for them to have a great first day and we know you guys will knock it out of the park so good luck and we love you guys, Happy First day Macie and Jacob

Today our members here at Sandy Ridge Fire Department spent the day training on vehicle extrication, members were hands on with handling equipment from cutters and spreaders as most of the world knows them as “The Jaws of Life”, our members trained in heat and never complained but pushed through to put one more tool in their personal tool box that will make every call a little bit easier to tackle if such situations arise, for the community to know and be reassured our members are always training and learning new ways to keep you safe and secure when you need us the most, awesome job today guys and gals and as always thank you for what you do for our department.

Today we would like everyone to help us celebrate one of our very own members Mrs. Kinley Laney, today is her 22nd birthday and we wish the happiest of birthdays to her and many more!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KINLEY!!!

This time last year she was fairly new to our department and wanted to run a ton of calls, in which we did so hopefully that’s not the case today we love you!
