Milling and Paving Notice for TUESDAY, September 1st and WEDNESDAY, September 2nd

Please be advised that milling and paving will take place on the following streets:

Continental Ave between Ontario Street and the dead end
Gansevoort Ave
Melville Ave

During roadwork, expect limited access and delays. ALL vehicles must be removed from the street, vehicles will be towed if not moved during the work period.

Cohoes PD is on the scene of an apparent murder-suicide at the Harmony Mills apartments on North Mohawk Street, likely resulting from a domestic dispute. Investigation is ongoing and further information will be forthcoming.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in our summer Yoga, Soccer, Tennis and Pickleball clinics. With over 200 participants, it was an incredible summer filled with fun, fitness, and new skills. ⚽️🎾

This morning, I had the pleasure of swearing-in our two newest members of the Cohoes FD, bringing the department to full strength. JACKSON FELT, age 19, is a CHS graduate and current EMT with Mohawk Ambulance Service. EVAN FAIRCLOUGH, 24, comes to us directly from the Watervliet Arsenal FD, where he’d been a firefighter for the past three years. JACKSON is off to the Academy for 13 weeks of basic training, while EVAN jumps right into the field. We are grateful to all who were able to attend the ceremony, including current and retired members of CFD, elected officials, city staff, family and friends. Best wishes for a safe and rewarding career, gentlemen!!

There is currently a water main break on Western Ave.

Residents in the immediate area may experience low or no water pressure while the Department of Public Works crews work to repair the issue.
