Wild Things Wildlife Programs

Wild Things Wildlife Programs Conservation Ambassadors’ Wild Things provides a home for over 60 species of displaced wildlife.

These animals are shared in our wildlife education presentations, which we offer to hundreds of thousands of school children every year.

Our reindeer are excellent for pulling Santa’s sleigh one day a year, but the other 364 days they rely on something less magical: our truck and trailer. Unfortunately, our truck has a failed engine and won’t be back on the road until we can replace it.

We’re working to raise $18,000 for a new engine so our reindeer can safely travel year round to schools, community events, and holiday celebrations. If you’d like to help us keep the reindeer on the road when they’re taking a well-earned break from flying, your support would mean the world to them (and to us).

It was International Sloth day yesterday, but we were -slow- to the news 😉 🦥

If you’re new here, this is Shaggy! He is a two-toed sloth. He loves to cuddle up in a his favorite bucket with a towel or blanket, climb on his branches, and forage through dirt on the floor! Sloths like Shaggy live in Central and South America up high in the forest trees. 🌳

Happy National Zookeeper Week!

As the week comes to a close, we want to recognize the incredible team who care for our animals every single day: Krista, Jojo, Christian, Elsa, and Abby go above and beyond as keepers, handlers, trainers, and educators, and they do it all with compassion and dedication.
We’re also grateful for the support of our director Gabe and curator Becki, who do all of that as well as help keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.
Thank you, team, for giving your heart and soul to the animals. We couldn’t do it without you!

What a beautiful story about living in harmony with wildlife. Something we talk about in our wildlife programs daily!

by Stephanie Becker

In the peaceful town of Mystic, pets begin to disappear mysteriously, leading the townspeople to suspect Harmony, a local coyote with a secret talent for playing the trumpet. As Harmony’s music, once a source of joy, becomes a point of contention, he sets out to clear his name and prove his innoc....
