The Hollanders were triumphant over the New Prague Orioles by a score of 10-6 this afternoon.
The boys opened the scoring in the first after Joey Lilya singled, scoring a run.
Cologne committed an error, which helped the New Prague Orioles tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
In the top of the third, the tie was broken up when Zack Nelson hit into a fielder's choice, but a run was able to score. Then an error followed to extend the lead to 3-1.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, New Prague reclaimed the lead on a Hollanders error and a sac fly.
Cologne flipped the game on its head in the top of the sixth, scoring five runs on one hit to take the lead, 9-5.
Casey Clemensen started on the mound for Cologne. He allowed four hits and three runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out two and walking none. Zack Nelson, Kyle Hughes, and Dale Brown each came on in relief and shutdown the Orioles.
Newcomer, Gabe Romero, had a solid debut, leading the team with two hits in three at bats and walking twice. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game. Andrew Eggers and Lilya collected the other hits for the squad.
Congrats to Brandon Fritz on collecting his first win as manager.
