PennDOT Announcement:
Weekend Closure Scheduled on NB I-83 (South Bridge) in Harrisburg

Motorists in south central Pennsylvania are advised a weekend closure is scheduled for northbound I-83 on the South Bridge spanning the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg. I-83 will be closed between Exit 41 (Lemoyne/Camp Hill) and Exit 43 (2nd Street).

This closure includes the northbound I-83 Exit 41B ramp to Lemoyne and the Lemoyne/Lowther St on-ramp to northbound I-83. Right turns from eastbound Route 581 Ramp 6C onto eastbound Lowther St will be restricted, though left turns and straight movements from the ramp will be permitted.

The closure will allow the district’s bridge maintenance contractor, J.D. Eckman, Inc., to perform permanent repairs to an expansion dam on the bridge.

The closure will begin at approximately 9:00 PM on Friday, October 15, and is expected to be lifted by 6:00 AM Monday, October 18. Should inclement weather impact this schedule, the work will be performed during the same hours Friday, October 29, through Monday, November 1.

A detour will be in place for NB I-83 traffic using WB PA Route 581, NB I- 81 and SB Interstate 83. Also, a detour will be in place for the Lowther Street ramp traffic using Lowther Street, the SB I-83 on-ramp at South 10th Street to exit 40B (New Cumberland), eastbound on Carlisle Road, and I- 83 NB. A detour will be in place for EB PA Route 581 traffic using Exit 6B (I-83/York) to exit 40B (New Cumberland), EB on Carlisle Road, and I- 83 NB.

To support and facilitate the abovementioned closures, motorists may experience lane restrictions and/or manual traffic control at the 3rd St and Lowther St Intersection in Lemoyne, as well as other intersections along the detour routes. Motorists may expect delays on northbound Interstate 83, eastbound PA Route 581, and detour routes. Alternate routes and/or travel times are encouraged to minimize delays.

At Tuesday evening's Board meeting, Waste Management Representative Tom Stang shared this message regarding yard waste collection...

Waste Management is short staffed nation wide, which is causing delays in yard waste pick up. If you place your yard waste at your curb and it has not been picked up, please leave it there. WM may not get there the next day, or even two days after, but they are aware it was not picked up and as soon as a crew is available to make rounds, they will be out to pick up the yard waste.

If you would like to see all of Tom's comments, please visit the Township's YouTube channel and check out last night's meeting: https://youtu.be/Jv4aYu1pUdQ
Tom begins speaking at the 6:42 mark.

What do we have to do to get Waste Management to follow the yard waste schedule? Calling them brings no results, they haven’t shown up for this for weeks, always excuses. Thanks
Question: is it legal to feed wild life in a residential area??? My neighbors feed the wildlife everyday with apples and corn, we have a fence and fox are getting in our fence with small children.

Seems to be a lot of tractor trailer traffic travelling west bound on Linglestown Rd around the circle and onto N Mountain Rd... most can't navigate the roundabout and are up over the curbs.. eventually we are going to end up with a bunch of damaged curbs.. anyone looking into this problem?
Wonder if whoever decided to put a Popeyes on 22 regrets the location because of the crazy parking lot situation and the line hanging out into traffic. 🤦🏻‍♀️
Looking for a lost dog in the area of wood st and locust lane. He is a 2 year old Brittany with a heart on his side as a marking. His name is Archie!!!! If you see him please call us at (717) 648-7768.
Hello Lower Paxton Twp. Can you tell me why I have seen an increase in traffic on Linglestown Rd? Everyday and evening the traffic backs up in front on my house; Cars, Trucks, Tractor Trailers. One night I was woke up at 10:30pm from a car revving his engine in front of my house. Traffic was at a stand still and is again this evening.
Dog found wondering in neighborhood behind 3Bs on Linglestown. No collar. Older female yellow lab with small limp. Not injured. Tried befriending but just barked and kept on walking away.
Does the township limit how close a fire pit can be to a structure? If so, what are the regulations? Thanks
We love George Park! Hoping the sprinkler will be turned on soon!
Hello Lower Paxton Township, Still haven't seen the quarterly Sewer etc. bill. Is there going to be a deadline extension for folks to get their payments in? Thank you, "Cap'n" Toni......
First day of yard waste pick up for the year and nothing has changed since last year, it's STILL sitting here.
