#Faith4Space Science cannot do it all but requires the addition of a different perspective that extends beyond that which can be sensed in the world. According to Albert Einstein:

"The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift. We will not solve the problems of the world from the same level of thinking we were at when we created them. More than anything else, this new century demands new thinking: We must change our materially based analyses of the world around us to include broader, more multidimensional perspectives."

Today is #MemorialDay first declared in 1868 by General John A Logan as a day to honor “...comrades who died in defense of their country...” All graves were decorated regardless of the cause of death.

The day honors all who died while wearing the uniform of the nation's military services. While the history of the United States Space Force is short and there is only one astronaut currently amongst the ranks, it is appropriate for the Office of the Space Force Chaplain to recognize the members of the United States military who paid the ultimate price while preparing or conducting space flight. They are a foundation on which the Space Force stands today.

Listed on the "Space Mirror Memorial", which is part of the Astronauts Memorial, are:

Captain Theodore Freeman, USAF (1964 - NASA)
Commander Elliot M See, Jr., USNR (1966 - NASA)
Major Charles A Bassett II, USAF (1966 - NASA)
Lt Col Virgil I. "Gus" Grissom, USAF (1967 - NASA)
Lt Col Edward H. White II, USAF (1967 - NASA)
LCDR Roger B. Chaffee, USN (1967 - NASA)
Major Curtis C. Williams, USMC (1967 - NASA)
Major Michael J. Adams, USAF (1967 - MOL*)
Captain Robert H. Lawrence Jr., USAF (1967 - MOL - America's first Black astronaut)
Lt Col Francis "Dick" Scobee, USAF (1986 - NASA)
CAPT Michael J. Smith, USN (1986 - NASA)
Captain Gregory B. Jarvis, USAF (1986 - NASA)
Colonel Ellison S. Onizuka, USAF (1986 - NASA)
CAPT Manley L. Carter Jr., USN (1991 - NASA)
Colonel Rick D. Husband, USAF (2003 - NASA)
Commander William C. McCool, USN (2003 - NASA)
CAPT David M. Brown, USN (2003 - NASA)
Lt Col Michael P. Anderson, USAF (2003 - NASA)
CAPT Laurel B. Clark, USN (2003 - NASA)

The OSFC offers its prayers for all the family members and friends who still grieve the loss of their hero on this day of remembrance.

#Faith4Space ... According to one of the most brilliant scientists in the history of humanity, Albert Einstein, felt humble by that which he was studying. He wrote:

"Every one who is seriously involved in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the Universe-a spirit vastly superior to that of man, and one in the face of which we with our modest powers must feel humble."

The OSFC offers these quotes to help support the #ResiliencySpace created by the chapel programs around the world that are supporting Guardians, Airmen, and their families as they protect the vast expanse above the Earth.
