The 5/19 SWTD and SOCOM athlete completed Denver hell day on 25MAR2023. 44 participants started 41 would finish the event. SOCOM Athlete is a prep program for any Active duty US military, cadet, or 16+yrs old civilian who is interested in a career in US Special Operations. Attendees learn basic tenants to succeed in SFAS, RIP, BUDS, Para-rescue-man Selection, and MARSOC selection. SOCOM Athlete and 5/19 SFG(A) have partnered 3x now to collaborate on the mission of preparing & recruiting SOF operators into the US Military and strengthening Americas youth. This is like SFRE, but Hell day is not an Army training event; SOCOM Athlete coordinates and runs Hell day, our 5/19 SFG(A) Green Berets acted as controllers & assistant instructors. At the start of hell day when the students were polled on “would you like be become a part of National Guard Special Forces?” There was only one hand raised; at the events completion the same poll yielded almost a 75% hand raise in service in National Guard Special Forces. Exposure to 5/19 Cadre, unit culture, and seeing ground zero of Army SF greatly increased interest. Great Job by the 5/19th Special Warfare Training Detachment Airborne - SWTD A .

Proud of the current and former 89th Troop Command warriors who were part of the 2023 Colorado National Guard Marksmanship Team. The team placed 9th out of 54 national teams from the Active, Reserve, and Guard teams CONUS / OCONUS during competition at the 2023 U.S. Army Small Arms Championship (All Army) from 13-18 March at Fort Benning (soon to be Fort Moore).
