Mark your calendars for our final Waste Tire Amnesty Event of 2026.

You must be a Whitley County Resident we will not accept tires from businesses.

You must have your ID

Dates July 6th - July 17th during normal business hours.

WCSWMD plans to accept tires all days listed on our flyer however we do have a cap on spending. Once that cap is reached we will stop accepting tires for free and resume our normal collection of tires for a fee. Please call ahead to make sure our amnesty is still going on before driving to our facility. WCSWMD reserves the right to refuse tires that dont meet our guidelines or end our amnesty early if we hit our spending cap.

Attention Residents
We had a busy week!! Our trash roll offs are full. Unfortunately our contractor cant make it to us until sometime on Monday. Please be advised that we will not be able to accept or take large loads of trash or large item trash until Tuesday next week. I am sorry for any inconvenience this causes you. We will still be open tomorrow for non trash drop offs. Please note yellow bag trash is not effected by this issue and can be dropped off as normal.

On May 11th and 12th our county highway dept will have a contractor coming in to mix up PUG for road patching. Customers will not have any access behind our gated area to offload cardboard, trash, or metal. The facility will still be open to serve our constituents. We are asking for your help in limiting traffic at our facility those 2 days.

I know we are all tired of the rain, but look the rain and the warm weather are sprouting the kids marigolds they planted for us on Monday.

Today our facility hosted a tour for Corsspointe Homeschool group. The children and parents learned all about recycling and what our facility offers to the residents in Whitley County. They also helped me plant flower seeds in our planter out front at the facility. Can't wait to watch them grow!

We used cardboard egg cartons which are an eco-friendly, cost-effective way to start seeds or small bulbs, as they are biodegradable and can be planted directly into the ground.
