Was honored to attend Illuminate Maryland’s forum organized with IndivisibleHoCoMD Public Page hosting our D4 County Council candidates. Our young leaders had thoughtful policy-based questions addressing community impacts. Was also very happy to reconnect with two of my Howard County Democrats United for Action slaties, Citizens for Teresa Baker and Ahmed.

I urge our county leaders and our community to continue to push back against the construction of this prison which HAS NO PLACE in Howard County.

Howard County says its ban on private detention centers will not apply to a proposed ICE facility in Elkridge, according to a letter filed in federal court Thursday.

TOMORROW, Illuminate Maryland, a student-led civics organization, is hosting a Howard County Council District 4 Election Forum featuring Shamieka Preston, Linfeng Chen, and Regina Clay in person, with Janssen Evelyn in attendance virtually.

If you want to hear directly from the candidates about their priorities, policies, and vision for District 4, this is a great opportunity to get informed and engaged.
