Keep your kids reading all summer long!

The Pizza Hut BOOK IT! Program is open to families with children in Pre-K through 6th grade and gives kids a fun goal to work toward during summer break. The best part…they can earn FREE Pizza Hut personal pan pizzas just for reading!

We have a Pizza Hut in nearly every community across the Post 15 area, making it easy to redeem those rewards and celebrate a job well done.

Many of you likely remember participating in the program when you were a kid. It’s a great way for kids to stay engaged with reading during the summer.

The summer program starts on Monday, June 1st! I encourage you to download the app and get your kids sign up!

🇺🇸This Memorial Day weekend, Sergeant Clint Bale, Trooper Codie Ford and myself completed a Murph workout to honor of our great nation’s fallen soldiers as well as our Kentucky State Police Troopers that have been killed in the line of duty. This has become an annual tradition at Post 15.🇺🇸

Our Troopers joined several young men on the Green County High School football team for this meaningful workout. We paid tribute to the brave service members who gave their lives in the service of our country. 💪🏈

By the way, it was coming a downpour the entire workout. It was a great display of athleticism, team work, and community while honoring our service members and investing in our future. Thanks to Coach Phelps for hosting the event.

Today, we honored Trooper Johnny Edrington, who gave his life in the line of duty on December 20, 1988.

It was good to spend time visiting with his family and remembering his legacy together. One of the most special moments was helping his grandchildren take part in the ceremony by placing American flags at his gravesite as Trooper Zach Scott laid a memorial wreath in his honor.

Though many years have passed, Trooper Edrington’s service and sacrifice to the Commonwealth will never be forgotten.

Congratulations to Truman on his graduation from high school!!! We finally got him there!

For more than 10 years, myself and fellow Troopers have had the privilege of watching Truman grow into a fine young man. Along the way, we’ve tried to make a positive impact through a lot of encouragement and mentorship.

Truman has attended Trooper Island in several different roles over the years. We’ve celebrated several birthdays, experiencing new adventures, and watching him continue to grow and succeed.

Now…if I’m being honest, he’s also gotten on our nerves a more than a few times along the way too! 😆

We’re proud of you, Truman!

Special thanks to Ms. Jennifer Lankford, with Monroe County Schools, for her tremendous efforts with Truman since Kindergarten as well!

Kentucky State Police Post 15 Troopers joined fellow Troopers from the Tennessee Highway Patrol for our annual Hands Across the Border detail yesterday.

This collaborative effort helps strengthen the partnership between our neighbors to the south while working together to keep the communities along our state lines safe.

Thanks to Trooper Washer for inviting Post 15 Troopers to attend the memorial service for Sergeant David Gibbs. Captain Smith, Sergeant Blakey, and myself were honored to be in attendance.

Sergeant Gibbs was a good friend and spent many years assigned to Post 15. His dedication to the KSP and the Commonwealth will not be forgotten.

Kentucky State Police Investigates Fatal Collision on US 68 in Green County

Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 15 Troopers were requested by the Green County Sheriff’s Office to respond to a two-vehicle injury collision, just after 11:30 A.M. CDT yesterday morning, on US 68 (Edmonton Road) in Green County.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Janice McKinney, 76, of Greensburg, was traveling east on US 68 in a 2009 Kia Rio. Ms. McKinney crossed the centerline and entered the westbound lane of US 68 into the path of a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe traveling west on US 68, operated by Cody Richmond, 30, of Greensburg.

Janice McKinney was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Green County Coroner. Cody Richmond was transported to TJ Sampson Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

KSP Post 15 Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Green County Sheriff's Office, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife, Green County Fire/EMS, Green County Coroner’s Office and the Kentucky State Highway Department. Senior Trooper Brandon Roark is investigating the collision.
