"Every saint has a past and every sinner has a future." Judge Christopher Sockwell

Last night, Judge Sockwell delivered words of encouragement to the 20 graduates at the 7th 22nd District Recovery Court graduation.

As a prosecutor, it is much more rewarding to see someone change their life and become a productive member of society than to lock them up.

We wish the best to the 20 graduates from last night!

A historic day! We honored Judge Bobby Sands today as he retired after serving 20 years as General Sessions Judge for Maury County. Then, we watched as Scott Speer was sworn in as General Sessions Judge. Judge Sands administered the oath to his replacement in a special moment. Scott has served as an Assistant District Attorney in Maury County for the past 12 years.

I want to thank Scott for the excellent work he has done for the citizens of Maury County and wish him well as he begins this next chapter as Judge.

Congratulations!

While in D.C., there was one place I made sure to go. The National Law Enforcement Memorial. I found the names of 3 local heroes on the wall there. It's a humbling experience seeing the seemingly endless number of names engraved there. May God bless and comfort all of their families.

This week, I and several colleagues, was sworn in to practice before the United States Supreme Court. It was a surreal experience. This was my first trip to D.C. I found the city to be clean and safe. I didn't even see any protesters!!

Thank you for allowing me to serve as your District Attorney.
